Feng Gui Ho, Dayu's father, his wife and his mother, were sitting in front of Liu Hong, Liu Minzhe's father, his wife and their son.
This had been a long time coming. This time, it's the Feng who finally asked for the meeting.
And they're meeting on neutral ground. At the BenMiller Inn and Spa restaurant.
"We apologize for asking to meet, so suddenly..Mayor Liu.." Mr Feng finally broke in the awkward silence between them.
"It's alright..Old friend..." Mayor Liu gave a little smile, "actually I think we really do have to meet..." the mayor glanced at his wife and son, then looked back at the Feng, "I want to apologize for my wife's and son's behaviour...they had been such a nuisance to you...I am very sorry."
Both Mrs Liu and Liu Minzhe gasped as they turned to Mayor Liu in disbelief.
"Please. Don't say that, Mayor Liu." Madam Feng, Dayu's grandmother looked at the man who had also been like a son to her, "it's all water under the bridge now..Let's put a stop to all these discomfort..and then perhaps we could at least treat each other normally as old family friends."
"Put a stop?" Mrs Liu turned to Madam Feng, "about Minzhe and Dayu...Could we let them get back together again..?" That's what she had been hoping for.
Though, her son had told her that he did managed to meet Dayu before he came back to Canada bit he didn't tell her the details. All Minzhe told her was, that he wouldn't give up. That he's still in love with Dayu.
Both of them, didn't talk about the man Dayu was with. Whoever that man was; he doesn't compare to Minzhe. Minzhe had been with Dayu for ten years, after all.
"Liu Liqin!!! Please stop with that kind of talk. Please. !?" Mayor Liu almost slammed his fists on the table then.
What!?" Mrs Liu raised her voice, "what do you mean, stop? Aren't we meeting here to discuss about this..About Dayu and Minzhe?"
"We are.." Madam Feng replied, before Mayor Liu could reprimand his wife further, "but, I'm sorry Liqin..We are not going to discuss about getting Dayu and Minzhe back together. Our Dayu is in a very serious relationship right now and we approve of their relationship." Not only did they approve of it, they were rooting for Qing and Dayu.
