What in the world just happened?
Dayu was still in a bit of a daze, in the car, as Qing drove away from his family residence at half past nine pm.
Qing had been pretty silence all evening, as he watched Dayu talked with his family members.
And Dayu, who was a little bit overwhelmed by everything at first, began to feel at ease as the evening progressed.
It wasn't hard getting comfortable with Mr and Mrs Feng, because Dayu had already considered them both his friends. And to think that they were actually Qing's grandparents; Dayu was still mind boggles by it.
And, with Qing's father and sister, whom Dayu learned a little bit later on as President Wang Ho and Vice President Wang Jiyi, of the BoFa Properties and Development Company, Dayu had a very interesting and enlightening conversation concerning his product which they had been using for five years.
Dayu just felt that he missed out on trying to communicate with Qing's mother and he really felt sorry about it. She gave Dayu a smile occasionally as she tried to get into the conversation but she couldn't talk much because the conversation between him and the other four members of Qing's family were already taking much of his attention away.
He grimaced when he remembered it.
"I must apologise to your mother..." Dayu said, after a while, "I think she felt left out just now..during dinner..."
And Qing almost stepped on the brake, but he managed to get himself under control at the very last minute.
Dayu had been neglecting him, throughout dinner. Qing was almost non existence as he listened to Dayu's conversation with his grandparents, his father and his sister, by the sidelines. Qing was feeling way more left out than his mother, for god sake! At least his mother tried to get into the conversation. Qing couldn't even to try. It's so hard because he hadn't expected things to turned out the way it did.
Yes, he hoped and prayed that his family would be able to accept Dayu, and their relationship. And even if the others didn't accept Dayu at the moment, he hoped that his grandmother would at least be on their side and persuade the other family members to gradually accept Dayu and them being together.
Well. Surprise surprise. Not only that they accepted Dayu, his grandparents were clearly besotted with Dayu. His father and his sister idolize Dayu. And his mother was enthralled by Dayu.
Qing thought; that they might even forgot, why Qing brought Dayu there in the first place. From the start to finish, there wasn't even one question that pointed at Dayu being Qing's boyfriend. They were all too busy to promote themselves to Dayu.
Qing seethed more and more as he continued driving, remembering how frustrated he'd been feeling all night. He was there but for almost two hours, Dayu didn't pay him much attention and his family ignored him altogether; happily latching on to Dayu.
