Everybody was close enough to hear and see it, when suddenly Dayu gripped and called out Qing's name in a strange voice. Of course, everybody froze, with their hearts simultaneously, stopped beating, thinking the same thing as Qing was thinking; that Dayu's having a stomach cramp due to the pregnancy and that he maybe going into labor.
When they heard Dayu's reply however, they were dumbfounded for a moment before they burst out laughing.
Qing was the only one who's left, ashen faced.
"Jamie Oliver's eggs?" Qing hissed, in disbelief. One of these days he would call Jamie and tell him to disown that dish. Or, better yet, he should call Jools (Jamie's wife) and tell her to ban Jamie from ever using that recipe again. One word from Jools and Jamie would do it in seconds. Jools is Jamie's Queen, just like Dayu is to Qing, and Jamie would do anything Jools tell him to do. That's not a bad idea at all. Qing snickered. He'd had had enough of Dayu wanting another man's eggs. And to think that they had agreed to call it his eggs. Dayu still sometimes forgot and call the dish Jamie Oliver's eggs.
Qing glared at his family members when they continued to laugh, but, they just laughed even harder.
"This is the first time we're hearing about this...Dayu ah..!"Jiyi said, in between her laugh.
Dayu blushed, when he realised what he had just said put loud, and looked at Qing guiltily. Qing had asked him to change the name of that dish, and he had agreed, but sometimes Dayu tend to forget, especially when he's not focused and a little distracted. It's not easy to call it, 'Qing's eggs' when it was Jamie Oliver whom he first saw cooked it, though.
And Dayu was not actually focused on anything in particular at that moment.
Earlier today, as he was getting ready for the press conference, Qing had told him, not to let things get into him. Qing told him, to think about something else, or to distract himself with other thoughts while they're on the public conference. It'd help Dayu from feeling the pressure. After all, Qing told him that he didn't have to say much during the press conference, they just needed to come and be seen together.
Hence, Dayu took Qing's advice by heart. The moment he and Qing walked into the hall, Dayu had begun thinking about something else. While all the commotions happened, Dayu thought of the 85% perfection eggs and the ice cubes that he loved so much. He thought of nothing else all the time they're at the press conference.
It worked, though. If he hadn't been distracting himself with that thought, the pressure from the looks people gave them, the flashes of the cameras and the questions asked; they might freak Dayu up. He knew just how unbalanced his emotions, due to his hormones, were at the moment. Dayu didn't trust himself, whether he could withstand such situation, in his current condition.
"Sorry..!" Dayu muttered, blinking hus big eyes at Qing, so adorably. And Qing sighed, not able to be pissed off at Dayu for too long.
"It's, 'Qing's eggs' now.." he grumbled as he glared at their family who were still snickering, then he took Dayu's hand and pulled him to continue walking.
