He watched her as she was skipping happily ahead of him, completely satisfied with finally having her meal. She stopped, turned around and waited for him. The sun would soon be setting and she wanted to take the path that was closer to the lake to walk back to the estate. She felt the reflection of the sunset in the water was beautiful.

"Dijun, what's wrong? Why are you so slow? Usually, I'm the one who can't keep up with you. Or is it that you ate too much and it's weighing you down?" she teased.

"Nothing's wrong ...Xiao Bai, are you happy?" he asked, looking over at her.

"Hmm?" she didn't expect such a random question. She thought about it for a moment. Of course she was happy, she just had a delicious meal, saw and then acted in a compelling play, which doubled in her fulfilling her role as bodyguard for him, saving him from a pesky seductress. And best of all, Dijun also liked the meal. Plus, she was holding onto two sticks of candied hawthorn berries. She had bought one to share with the old bear.

"Yes, I'm happy," she replied.

"Why?" his voice lowered.

"Because .... Lord Mung Su is going to fall over himself when he sees your hair!" she said triumphantly with glee as she pointed the sticks of candy to his head.

"I bet in the hundreds of thousands of years that he's known you, he's never seen you like this, am I right?"

He stopped walking to stand in front of her. She took a strand of his hair in her hands, lightly tugging on it. He looked down at her, taking in her face.

"No, no one's ever seen me like this. Just you."

"That means I'm special, right?" she teased.

"Yes... Xiao Bai .... can I you change you back to how you looked before?"

"Why, do I look bad now?" she asked nervously, looking down at herself.

She almost made him laugh. "No, of course not. It's just that if you're going to pull on my hair, then it's only fair I get to pull on your braid."

"But you can pull on this." She offered up a handful of her own long hair that flowed loosely down her back.

He shook his head slightly in amusement. This little fox was too funny. She was offering up her own hair to be pulled.

Upon realizing the same thing, she dropped it, feeling embarrassed.

"Ok, fine," she relented.

Dong Hua put out his hand and lightly fanned it front of her. She emerged in a blue flash in her pale pink robe, her hair in a long side braid, with her phoenix flower birthmark manifesting on her forehead. This is what he wanted. He missed seeing her with her birthmark.

He was about to say something before they both sensed another presence approaching them beside the lake.

"It's another immortal," she whispered.

Dong Hua nodded. He didn't sense any threat from this individual and didn't feel a terribly impressive cultivation. He was curious who this could be as they had already reached the outer limits of the old bear's estate.

Before he could tell her to stand behind him, like a true bodyguard, she had already marched off ahead to see who it was.

When Dong Hua reached her side, he could see she had abruptly dropped her sticks of candy on the ground. The young immortal was already in the middle his bow.
