"What should we do today?" Taylor asked as she fell beside you on the couch. She took ahold of your hand and brushed her thumb in circles around your knuckles as you thought about what to do on your day off together.
"Oh! I know! I got this new Vr game! Are you up for playing it?"
"Is it scary?" She asked curiously, to which you nodded. "Y/n," she whined. "I don't like scary stuff."
"I know. But it's not supposed to be that scary. It's up to you but I think we could have some fun with it."
She debated for a moment before sighing. "Only for you."
You cheered excitedly and got everything set up.
"So it's called five nights at Freddy's: help wanted and it's pretty fun. All you have to do is keep an eye on the monitors and manage the power. Don't let Freddy Fazbear get you. Don't blink! He'll appear in the blink of an eye."
"What?" She blurted out, already nervous just from your instructions.
"Don't worry, Tay. It's gonna be fine. It's only VR. If you need me, I'm right here."
She hesitated but put on the headset. She took a deep breath as the game began. After hearing the intro, she jumped upon seeing the purple glowing eyes in the room. The characters began to move around, taking Taylor by surprise.
"What do I do?"
"Keep watching the monitors!" You reminded her. "They walk around, so keep watching the monitors and look around. Manage the power, control the lights and doors."
She breathed out a nervous sigh and started to tap her foot. She jumped when one of the characters appeared by the door, a small shriek escaping from her lips.
"I don't like this!"
"If you want to stop, you can, baby."
She shook her head, telling herself that she could stick it out and she'd be fine. But the more she played, the more they randomly appeared and with every appearance, her heart would hammer against her ribcage, and screams would fall from her lips.
But when one appeared directly in front of her, she screamed and cursed a few times as she pulled off the headset. Tears welled up in her eyes and you hugged her tight.
"It's alright, Tay. It's only a game, it's not real."
"It was so scary!"
"I know." You soothed and rubbed her back comfortingly. "It's okay. I'm here with you. You did well for being pretty frightened."
"Thanks." She chuckled through her tears.
"Wanna try again?"
"Hell no." She quickly answered, making you giggle. "But I'll watch you if you want to play and I'll support you from a distance."
"Okay." You laughed and kissed her lips sweetly before pulling back to grab the headset to play yourself and all Taylor could do was admire you, wondering how you were so brave and marveling over the giggles that would fall from your lips when you'd jump on occasion.
