Taylor hummed quietly to herself as she stepped inside. After a long day of work, she was more than happy to be home, ready for a quiet and peaceful night in with you.
But it caught her off guard when she noticed how quiet and dark the house was. It's only late afternoon and she knows you're home, your car is in the driveway. But you're nowhere to be found.
She went upstairs and when she reached the top step the sound of a whimper cut through the silence and she rushed to the bedroom.
There you sat on the floor with your knees pulled up to your chest. You were rocking back and forth with tears streaming down your face. Your hair was a mess from tangling your fingers in it and you were crying hard. She knew you were having a panic attack right away.
"Y/n!"
You turned your head to see Taylor coming towards you. She bent down in front of you, her hands taking ahold of yours before she started to coax you through it.
This isn't the first time she's seen you have a panic attack and thankfully, she knew just what to do to help you.
"It's okay y/n. I'm here with you now, you're gonna be okay. Can you take a deep breath for me?" You shook your head frantically before lowering it again only to feel Taylor let go of one of your hands to gently cup your chin and tilt it up.
"Yeah you can, y/n. I know you can. C'mon, you have to try." Your bottom lip trembled before you closed your eyes and started to take deep breaths as Taylor guided you through it. Her thumbs brushed across your chin and your knuckles, rubbing softly and soothingly.
"You're doing such a good job, y/n. I'm so proud of you. Keep breathing," she kissed your cheek and paid close attention to your breathing and watched as it grew steady and even.
"Okay?" She asked as you opened your eyes. You stared back at her and nodded your head. "I'm sorry. I don't know what happened, it just came on out of nowhere and it was so intense. I didn't know how to stop it."
In fear of you throwing yourself into another attack, she put her hand on your shoulder and shook her head at you. "Y/n, breathe." You took a deep breath through your nose and let it go a few seconds later. "That's it. It's alright, it happens. But you're okay now. I'm here with you and you're safe.'
You dropped your forehead to her shoulder and felt her arms tighten around you a little.
She wouldn't let you go until you felt better, no matter how long that would take.
