Taylor continued to scribble lyrics down on the sheets of paper, just like she's been doing for the past four hours.
There were a few crumbled pieces of paper around her, as well as a few shreds from the ones she ripped apart. Some ideas just weren't working and, unfortunately, neither was the one she was currently working on.
She went to rip the paper out of the notebook when you put your hands on her tense shoulders and her anger disappeared. "Taylor is everything okay?" She shook her head and tangled her hands in her hair. "No. Nothing seems to be coming together for me today."
You started to rub her shoulders, a small smile appearing on your face when you heard her let out a content sigh. "Maybe you should take a break? You've been working at this for four hours now." She shrugged and picked her pen back up but you took it from her hands. "Y/n, no. I have to finish-"
"Don't, Tay. You're stressed, you're tired, you're overworked. You've been going like this for the past couple of days. I know you have important things to do, but your health is way more important. Look, it's almost night now. Why don't you stop for the night and we can watch a movie and order takeout or something?"
Taylor wanted to tell you no, but with your hands on her shoulders and your lips against her ear, she couldn't seem to get the words out. She also knew you were right, too. She is tired - she hasn't been sleeping that much so she could try to finish everything sooner.
But clearly it's not working and the more she thinks about, a night with you sounds so much better than another late night of frustration.
"Okay. But I have to do more tomorrow." She got up and took your hand. "That's okay." You said as you leaned your head on her shoulder and walked to the living room.
You laid down on the couch and Taylor laid on top of you. Her head rested on your shoulder and watched you grab the remote.
You looked down at her and saw her eyes starting to droop. "What should we watch?" You knew she'd say it's up to you considering she was exhausted and bound to fall asleep soon.
"Anything you want. I'm alright with anything as long as you stay right here with me." You turned on the office and then put the remote back on the table. You tangled your hand in her hair, twirling a few locks around your fingers.
It didn't take long for her to fall asleep. She was much more relaxed now, all of her worries and fears had completely faded away as soon as she was in your embrace.
You kissed her head softly. "Goodnight, Taylor." You whispered with a smile while you listened to her soft breaths and watched her sleep peacefully.
