You put your guitar strap over your shoulder and put your in-ears in before walking down the hall to go out on stage. Tonight is one of the biggest and most important shows you've ever played and even though you're excited about it, you're also a little nervous because of how many people are in attendance tonight.

You heard the cheers coming from your fans as you stepped closer and closer to the stage. The lights went on and then, it was time.

You stepped out and smiled at the sound and sight of your fans being so excited to see you. The intro to your song began to play and you could hear the fans singing along to every word, making your nerves dwindle and your adrenaline heighten.

You took a look around the arena with tears in your eyes. But suddenly, for some strange reason, the lyrics fled your mind and you started to stutter over your words. You cursed and lowered your head, your fans going quiet for a moment. Some still cheered, but the energy from most was clearly not as strong as before.

You had to hold back your tears for the remainder of the show. "Thanks for coming. I love you guys" you said before going off stage when the show was over, but as soon as you were far enough out of sight you ran back to your dressing room in tears.

Mistakes happen. Obviously, you're only human and though you're a performer you're not perfect. But you had a strong feeling that it wasn't all forget and forgive. It felt different.

You turned your phone and opened your twitter and what you saw made your stomach turn. There were already articles of you messing up the words, videos, and photos from people that weren't ever your biggest fan and wanted to use this particular mistake to dangle it over your head.

But worst of all - you saw the death threats. For a simple mistake that you certainly weren't the first to make. People called you talentless, using vulgar language and hurtful words that made your thick skin turn thin. People threatened you, pointing out how important this show was and how you messed it up.

You turned your phone back off, not even wanting to know what people on Instagram were thinking of you. You sank into the couch and pulled your knees to your chest before you started to sob. You had this horrible fear that your career was already over.

But little did you know that someone very important to you was seeing this, too.

Taylor was browsing around on twitter and saw your name was trending at #1. She clicked on, curious as to what was going on. You're Taylor's favorite singer at the moment so she liked to keep up with you.

But what she saw broke her heart. The death threats, the hurtful and unnecessary language used by total strangers. She knows this feeling all too well. She's had more than a fair share of them too. So she knew she needed to reach out to you.

She went to your twitter and sent you a message.

Hey, it's Taylor. I heard what's been happening. I'm so sorry. I know what you're going through. Would you like to meet up sometime? I'd be more than happy to if you'd like. Message me back if you wanna and we can arrange something when we've both got some free time. Sending you lots of love and hugs, Taylor.

You heard a knock on your dressing room door so you went to open it. Your social media manager stood there looking speechless. "Uh, y/n. You're gonna want to see this." You shook your head thinking she was talking about the comments about your performance.

you sulked back over to your couch. "I don't wanna see any more death threats." She just laughed and made her way towards you, handing you her phone when she was right in front of you. "Not that. Taylor Swift sent you a message. I think you're gonna want to read it."
