"Taylor, why don't you let me drive for a bit?" You offered, happy to take the wheel to let her get some rest in the passenger seat where you currently sat.

It was getting dark. You'd soaked in the final day of your vacation together as much as possible, which ended up giving you a late start to your four-hour drive back home. The sun had gone down and it was quiet; the only sounds being the quiet music and the hum of the car.

"Y/N, we're only an hour in. I don't want you to have to drive for three hours."

"And I don't want us to get in an accident. Tay, I can drive it. If you sleep for a couple of hours and we still have time and you wanna switch again then that's perfectly fine. But you're sleepy and you and I both know you can't drive another three hours."

She sighed and used one hand to rub her eyes while the other stayed on the wheel. "Okay. We need gas though, so we'll have to stop first. We'll switch then. According to the GPS, it's only about thirteen minutes away."

You nodded and turned the volume up, giggling when you realized that 'cruel summer' was playing. You turned the volume up a little more and rolled the window down, enjoying the warm breeze and the music on the radio that you sang along to together.

Time went by fast. You were at the gas station before you knew it. You took your seatbelt off and grabbed your wallet, which Taylor quickly pulled out of your hands.

"Tay,"

"Don't, baby. You paid last time, it's my turn. We made a deal, remember? Now I'll go pay and fill up the car, you go grab some water considering we're almost out." She shook the nearly empty water bottles so you kissed her cheek before you both got out of the car.

There weren't many people around. A person here and there, one guy was deep in conversation with the clerk as Taylor paid and made sure you grabbed everything you needed. You split the money there, too. You were stubborn and wouldn't let her pay for everything, though she really wanted to treat you to it.

She filled up the car while you set up a playlist for the drive. She climbed into the passenger seat and grabbed the blanket from the floor that you had thrown over yourself on the way. She made herself comfortable in the seat before leaning around to kiss your hand softly.

"Thank you." She smiled.

"For what?"

"Always looking out for me. I know I can be a little stubborn sometimes, but you always make sure that I take care of myself."

"You're welcome, Tay. Now get some sleep. You deserve it." You said and continued to keep your eyes on the road while she relaxed.

It was quiet for a few minutes. The music seemed a little louder than before since everything was so silent now.

"Do you want me to change the music, baby? Is it too loud for you?" You asked and took your eyes off the road for a second to glance over at Taylor, only to find that she had fallen asleep.

She had moved the seat back to be more comfortable. Her pink lips were parted slightly, soft breaths escaping from her lips. You grinned at the sight. It was truly heartwarming. She'd done so much for you over the last two weeks to make sure you had the most exciting vacation together. She deserved some good sleep.

"Sweet dreams, Tay." You whispered before turning back to watch the road.
