You sat in the circle surrounded by some of your best friends, including Taylor. Your boyfriend, Brady, is out of town at the moment so it gave you an excuse to spend a lot of time with your best friends.
But hanging around with Taylor isn't always easy. Because you have the biggest crush on her. You've known her since you were young. She's five years older than you but you've been best friends for years and your feelings have only grown stronger for her.
You've never told her and as of now, you have no plans to ever do so. That's partially why you're dating Brady - to get your mind off of Taylor and move on. You didn't think you'd ever stand a chance with her.
But little did you know that Taylor is in love with you and she has been since you were teenagers. And it hurt her to see you with your boyfriend. You talk about him to her and it breaks her heart every time. She hates that he doesn't text you when he's out of town much or that he doesn't seem to give you the love that you truly deserve. She wanted to say something. She wanted to tell you that you deserve better, but she's too afraid to tell you how she feels. So she bites her tongue and just hopes that one day, something will change somehow.
It was your turn to spin the bottle. You got on your knees and gave it a good spin. Everyone watched carefully, secretly crossing their fingers and toes that it would land on Taylor. And it did.
You felt your heart beat harder in your chest and you watched Taylor's cheeks go red. She's nervous, you can tell. But you moved closer to her and knelt in front of her. Though you're also nervous, you've wanted to kiss her for the longest time and you didn't want this opportunity to go by without taking it.
Taylor cleared her throat. Her hands were shaky and sweaty and her heart was beating so loudly she swore she could hear it in her ears. "We don't have to-" she began to say but you cut her off by grabbing her face and giving her a little peck on her lips.
You pulled back and smiled at her. You were gonna pretend that it didn't mean anything to you, but you knew no one would buy that and least of all you. And it meant everything to Taylor. It's what she's dreamed of for the longest time and it was only making her feelings for you grow stronger.
She took you by surprise by giving you another peck but when reality set in she pulled away with a nervous look on her face. "I-I'm sorry" she mumbled and bit her lip, looking down at her polished fingernails instead of into your eyes.
You grabbed her by the hand and led her up to one of your friends' rooms. You closed the door behind you and dragged her over to the bed. "You kissed me again..." you said and Taylor was freaking out inside. "I know. I know you're with Brady and I shouldn't have kissed you again and I'm so sorry. Did I mess things up between us? Can we just forget that happened?"
You shook your head and Taylor whined. That's not what she hoped for. She figured this was it, you were gonna walk away for good. And she felt like she deserved that.
"You see, Taylor, I would forget it. But I don't want to." Her gaze locked with yours and she felt her hands shaking again as you gently took one of them in your own. "What?" You giggled and squeezed her hand. "I don't wanna forget it. I've actually really wanted this for so long-" "But you're with Brady."
you sighed and bit the inside of your cheek. "This is gonna make me sound like a terrible person, but I'm not with him because I have feelings for him. I'm with him because I have feelings for you." Taylor had to bite her lip to hold back a grin. "You do?" You nodded your head. "Good. Because I have feelings for you too. I'm honestly in love with you, with everything about you. I have been for years."
You cupped her cheek and stared deep in her eyes. "You didn't really kiss me" you mumbled. "What?" She furrowed her eyebrows, clearly confused. "You didn't give me a proper kiss. you pecked my lips. I want more than that."
Taylor leaned in and embraced you in your first real kiss together, and it was better than you could've ever imagined. Her lips moved with yours in perfect sync and they were soft and warm against your own.
Her hands gripped your hips, her fingertips brushing against your skin as you moved your hands to tangle in her smooth blonde hair. She gently moved you onto your back but pulled away a second later when the bedroom door opened. "Oh, I'm sorry! I just needed to grab my phone charger" he said as he bent down by his bed that you and Taylor were laying on. He grabbed his charger and looked at you both with a wide smile.
"I knew this would happen. I totally knew it!" He said gleefully as he walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. You laid there laughing and blushing like crazy. "Hey" Taylor whispered after letting out a few giggles of her own. She cupped your chin in her hand and brushed her thumb along your skin.
She smiled and leaned back in to kiss you and you quickly kissed her back. Neither of you was holding back any longer. Now that you finally have ahold of each other, you're never planning on letting go.
