Taylor is always excited when she gets to visit Ellen.

She's one of her best friends and favorite people and getting to see her is always exciting.

Today was a little different. She had just released a new song, one she was thrilled about releasing because it's the first one she's ever written for you. You've been together for a few months now, your relationship is starting to get serious, but you're still keeping it all under wraps because Taylor hasn't come out yet.

Taylor was in her own head for a moment when she thought about you waiting for her backstage, but she quickly shook her head and cleared her thoughts as Ellen said her name. "So, Taylor, what has changed since I last saw you? I'm not sure who you wrote this song about but they sound really amazing."

Taylor giggled adorably. "My life has changed a lot. I think I might be happier than I've ever been and yeah, she's really incredible."

"She?"

Taylor sucked in a sharp breath when she realized the mistake she'd made. "I, uh, I mean,"

"Wait, the person you wrote this song about is your...?"

Taylor took a deep breath, closed her eyes, then let it go. Tired of carrying the heavy burden of hiding who she truly was. She was tired of hiding how in love she really is with you. She knew you'd be okay with it being made public. There was nothing holding her back, except her own worries; worries she was ready to let go of.

"My girlfriend. Yeah, I have a girlfriend. Her name is y/n and she's just amazing. I love her more than I've ever loved anyone before. She just amazes me. That's why I wrote that song for her because I wanted the world to know that when the time for me to come out came around."

Taylor held her breath, a little anxious about how still the room felt. Everyone was silent for a moment, but it felt like forever. Ellen started to clap, leading everyone to do the same. Everyone was in awe of her bravery, her strength, her. She had tears in her eyes from how truly relieved and accepted she felt.

The interview went on a little longer for obvious reasons but as soon as it ended Taylor was running backstage to you. She put her arms around you and hugged you tighter than she ever had before. "You're so brave, Taylor. I'm so proud of you!"

She let out a shaky sigh and cried tears of happiness and relief against your neck. "Do you think people will understand? That they'll still love me the same?"

You pulled away and reached for your phone. You loaded Instagram up first and the reactions were overwhelmingly beautiful and kind. "You tell me, baby." You handed her your phone and she looked through her tags, each one of them melting her heart. Tumblr and Twitter were the same and although she knew it wasn't all positive everywhere, she was grateful for the ones that did, which were most of the fans.

"Baby girl, look at me." She lifted her head, looking you in your eyes. "You've got nothing to be worried about. The ones that are most important still love you the same, if not more. You're absolutely amazing. You're the most beautiful woman I know, inside and out, and I'm so happy that you can be yourself now."

She laid her forehead against yours, pecking your lips softly. "I love you."

You looped your arms around her neck and rubbed the tip of her nose with your own. "I love you too, Tay. I love you so much."
