Taylor had tears streaming down her face as she dry heaved once again. You sat behind her feeling helpless and worried.
It's hard seeing her like this. She's hurting and she's afraid, doing whatever she can not to be sick, even though she's only feeling worse fighting the urge of throwing up. Her hands are shaking, her skin is clammy, and her stomach aches worse than she's ever felt before.
"Taylor?" She groaned in response. "I know what you're gonna say..." she paused and swallowed thickly, a sign that the urge was coming back again. "I can't do it, y/n. I just can't." You rubbed her shoulders and kissed them both softly.
"You need to. You're only making yourself feel worse, Tay. I don't like seeing you like this. I know you're scared, I know you feel anxious, but I promise that I won't let anything happen to you. You'll be okay. Just stop fighting it, let it happen so we can get you back into bed and you can go back to sleep. You're exhausted. Please, Tay."
She let out a whine before she started to throw up. She reached a shaky hand out for yours and you took it. She needed you and your reassurance right now. "It's okay, get it all out, baby." you soothed her by whispering words of comfort in her ear and kissing her warm skin. She's anxious and any way you can comfort her, you'll try your best to do.
She finished a couple of minutes later and had to take a moment to catch her breath. "It's okay. You're okay." You whispered and rubbed her back. "Can you stand?" She turned her head and nodded. You helped her stand up but her knees were weak and you had to wrap your arms around her to keep her steady.
You flushed the toilet before closing the lid and having Taylor sit on it. You ran her toothbrush under the water and put some toothpaste on it then handed it to her. "Brush your teeth for a minute. I'll be right back, I'm just gonna go grab you a couple of things. Okay?" You rubbed her shoulders and kissed her forehead softly before going downstairs to grab her a cup of water and some pills, as well as a bucket.
You put the pills and water on her nightstand and the bucket on the floor on her side of the bed before going back to the bathroom. "Doing alright?" You asked as you knelt down in front of her on the floor. Her normally bright blue eyes were looking tired and droopy.
"C'mon, Tay. Let's get you back to bed, my sweet girl." You helped her stand up and into the bed. You handed her the cup and pills and she quickly swallowed them before she put the cup down on the nightstand and laid back. You tucked her in and kissed her temple. "Feeling any better?"
You tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and she let out a shaky breath. "A little. Can you lay with me?" You smiled at her and kissed her cheek, your lips lingering for a second and she closed her eyes. "Absolutely, baby."
You climbed under the covers next to her and she put her head on your shoulder. You started to sing to her, softly and slowly while you rubbed her back and watched her eyelashes flutter against her soft cheeks. "I love you so much, Tay. I hope you feel better soon." You said and when she didn't say anything back you knew she'd fallen asleep. With that, you kissed her chin and went back to sleep yourself, hoping Taylor could get a good night's sleep and feel much better in the morning.
