If there is one thing you've always really admired about your girlfriend it's the interest she always takes in the things that are important to you.

When you were first starting to get to know each other and were in the process of learning more about each other, you told her about your home country: the Philippines.

Taylor was happy to sit there and listen to you go on about the memories you made there and all about your family, but that night when she got home from your date she was immediately searching up facts and interesting things about the Philippines.

She began to learn as much as possible about your home country. She took an interest in it unlike anyone ever had before; because it was a huge part of you. It was home to you and it was important to you, so she took an interest in it quite quickly.

But now, standing in front of your parents' house after a long flight from LA to the Philippines, she suddenly went blank. With every second she got more and more nervous, you could tell by how tightly she was squeezing your hand. All you could do was chuckle which caught her attention.

"Taylor listen to me. It's all gonna be okay, they're gonna love you. I promise." You brushed your thumb across her knuckles and she let go of a heavy breath as you knocked on the door. Your mom pulled you in her arms right away, her grin bigger than you've ever seen.

"Oh, y/n! We're so happy you're home!" Your mom said as she pulled away from you and your dad wrapped you up in his arms. "And this must be Taylor," your mom smiled and Taylor nervously cleared her throat and squeezed your hand. "She's a little nervous."

Your parents shook their heads and hugged her tight causing Taylor to loosen up a little. "No need to be nervous. Come in," you entered the house with Taylor behind you. "Y/n why don't you show Taylor around?" Your dad asked and you pulled on Taylor's hand to lead her upstairs.

She froze and a gasp left her lips. She picked up a picture frame that was on a table against the wall and turned it your way. "Is this you?" Your eyes went wide at the baby photo before your cheeks turned red. "It was, wasn't it? Oh, y/n. You were the cutest baby ever!" You buried your burning cheeks in your hands before turning and walking down the hall, hearing Taylor run behind you to catch up. "You're cute when you blush." She whispered softly.

You led her back downstairs where your parents were setting up for dinner. When it was ready and you all sat down your parents' attention was on Taylor.

"So, Taylor? Tell us about yourself. What do you want with my daughter? What are your parents like?" Your dad asked. You felt Taylor reach under the table and take ahold of your hand. You squeezed it, knowing she needed that reassurance.

"I care very much about y/n. She's absolutely amazing. Every day that I get to spend with her I'm always blown away by how smart and beautiful she is. By how much she cares about people and how loving she is. I just wanna be with her and give her all the love that she deserves. And as for my parents - they're absolutely wonderful. They're so supportive of me, as well as my relationship with y/n. They already adore her. Almost as much as me."

Your dad couldn't wipe the smile from his face making Taylor feel so relieved. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear." Your mom nodded in agreement.

The rest of the dinner went smoothly. Taylor and your parents made small talk, sometimes your mom would drop little facts about you that would make you blush, but you didn't mind all that much because seeing your girlfriend get along so well with your parents, especially when she was so nervous to start with, made you so happy.

Taylor tried to help your parents clean up but they only shook her away, telling her it was unnecessary but very appreciated.

When it started to get late you decided to wrap things up for the night, promising you'd both be back tomorrow since you were staying a few days.

"Oh, Taylor," your dad waved her over and put his hand on her shoulder. "Thank you for treating my daughter so well. Her mother and I approve of your relationship and we can't wait to see you again tomorrow." Taylor's shoulders dropped as any of her nerves that were still hanging around disappeared completely.

Your dad hugged her and your mom rushed over to join in and the sight made your heart swell with love for three of your favorite people.

"See? Told you they'd love you." You told Taylor as you walked back to the car. Looking back, she couldn't even remember why she had gotten so nervous in the first place. She was already so excited to see them again tomorrow.
