You looked in the mirror once again, obsessively checking over and over again that everything looked perfect.

Today is the most special day of your life. You're finally marrying Taylor, the love of your life, and you couldn't be more excited.

Or nervous.

You looked at the clock on the wall. It's only fifteen minutes until you're supposed to go walk down the aisle, but right now you feel like you might pass out.

The nerves were always there. Of course you were nervous; you're getting married and that's a huge thing to do.

But the doubts came to you just an hour or so ago. It wasn't that you didn't wanna marry Taylor, because you do. She's your everything and spending the rest of your life with her sounds like everything you've ever dreamed of.

But there's that little voice in your head that keeps wondering if she's feeling the same way still. What if she changes her mind? What if it's too much pressure at the alter? What if she just doesn't wanna marry you anymore?

All of these thoughts were overwhelming. You kept pacing the floor, desperate to tug at your hair but you fought it the best you could because it's done so nicely and would take a while to fix.

A knock on the door caused you to freeze.
"Y/n? Are you ready?" It was Andrea. You bit your lip, trying to decide how to go about this. With how you're feeling right now you didn't know if you could get up there and look Taylor in the eye without falling apart.

"A-Almost."

You tried to keep your voice steady and normal, but Andrea knows you too well and she knows something isn't right. "Y/n are you okay? Do you wanna let me in? We could talk about it."

You wanted to say no but no words seemed to be coming out.

And then she asked you something that you needed desperately.

"Do you want me to get Taylor?"

"Please?" You heard footsteps trailing off and you sat down on one of the chairs in the room. It was just a minute later when you heard her voice.

"Y/n?" Taylor's soft, gentle voice was heard from outside the door. You started to tear up as the situation really hit you.

"Do you wanna let me in, darling?"

Oh, how you desperately wanted to. But you didn't want her to see what you looked like before you were standing there at the altar with her... if she still wanted to do that, of course.

"I don't think that's a good idea." You breathed out, hoping she'd understand. And as she always does, she did.

"Okay, that's okay. Do you wanna talk about whatever's going on then?"

"Yes." You got up and knelt on the floor, careful not to sit on your beautiful dress. "I-I'm scared."

"Of what?" She was trying to keep herself calm but when you said those words, she got anxious.

"You still wanna marry me?" You heard her chuckle. "Are you kidding, beautiful girl? It's all I want."

You smiled a little. "You really wanna spend forever with me?" You couldn't see it, but her smile only grew as she started to think about forever with you. It's something she's done before, of course - otherwise, she wouldn't have proposed last year to you on your little private vacation together.

"Surer than I've ever been about anything in my life. Y/n, I know forever is a long time. But spending forever with you, spending every minute by your side while we build our own little family and create a beautiful life for ourselves, is all I want. There's no one I'd ever wanna do this with other than you. You're my everything, my whole world. And there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you. That'll never change."

A tear streamed down your cheek but you wiped it away quickly, fearing that your makeup might start running.

"I can't see you yet, but I already know that you look absolutely breathtaking. You're the most beautiful, kind-hearted, loving human being I've ever known and I couldn't even spend a day without you. You make me the happiest woman in the world."

You giggled tearfully. Your heart was doing leaps in your chest. This is all you've ever wanted, and no cold feet were gonna stop you.

"Okay. I'm ready, Tay." You heard her breathe out a sigh of relief and you did the same. "Okay. I'm gonna be waiting for you up there. I love you so much." You sniffled and repeated the words back to her.

You took one more look in the mirror before you walked out of the room.

Your dad stood there with tears in his eyes. You linked your arm with him and the doors opened. You took a deep breath and started to walk down the aisle.

And even though people in the room were completely awe-struck over how beautiful you looked, all you could focus on was Taylor.

She stood with tears in her eyes. She nearly fell to her knees as you walked up the steps. She grabbed your hands and watched your dad kiss your head before he walked to his seat.

"I told you. You look absolutely breathtaking."

You grinned, resisting the urge to give her a kiss for just a few more minutes.

And just as you expected, it really was the most special day of your life.
