Taylor laughed as you awoke her by laying soft and sweet kisses across her face. Your fingers brushed along her sides, although not with the intention of tickling her, but rather because her skin was soft and warm and you always find comfort in letting your fingers roam across her body absentmindedly.

"Good morning, baby girl." You whispered in her ear before tugging it between your teeth gently and then pressing your lips to the shell. "And happy anniversary."

"Happy anniversary to you too, beautiful girl. Can't believe it's only been one year. I feel like I've known you my entire life." She spoke softly as she took your hands into hers, lacing your fingers together then pulling you down.

Your chest pressed against hers and she brought you in for a kiss. It was still early and the day so special so, for the time being, she kept it slow and sweet. Just a moment to cherish the taste of your lips.

"I have something special for you!"

Your enthusiasm and utter happiness made her heart swell.

"I thought we agreed to no gifts."

"We did... at first. But then you proposed a special and oh so romantic dinner tonight at my favorite spot downtown and not getting you anything just felt wrong. So... I had this made special for you and I hope that you love it."

You reached into the drawer in the nightstand by your side of the bed. You pulled out a neatly wrapped box and then opened her hand that was still holding yours. You placed it in the palm o her hand, sending her a smile when your eyes met.

"Before I open it, I just want you to know that whatever it is, I'm gonna love it. Because it comes from you."

"You're as sweet as sugar." You grinned and booped her nose and she scrunched it up playfully. "Now open it, my girl. I'm dying to know what you think of it!"

She quickly tore off the wrapping paper covering it and her eyes sparkled when she opened the tiny black velvet box to find a beautiful ring inside. It was beautiful; a shiny silver band with a purple diamond right in the center.

"It's a promise ring."

She looked up at you with stars in her eyes.

"And there's something special engraved."

You picked it up and turned it over to allow for her to see what was engraved.

"You are my soulmate." She whispered softly as she read the words engraved in the silver band time and time again, her heart feeling warm and full each time.

Taylor clicked her tongue at the sweet sight, eyes even brighter than before when she looked up at you again; looking happier than ever before.

"Do you like it? Is it too cliche?"

She simply hooked her fingers under your chin and put her lips on yours, happy to bring you in for one of the most loving kisses you've ever shared.

"It's perfect."

You gently took it between your fingers and slid it onto her ring finger.

"I promise, for as long as I live, that I will always remain faithful to you. I promise to give you everything you deserve. You have my heart forever. You deserve all of the love and happiness in the world and I promise to try to give it all to you."

She gasped in awe when it was secure on her finger. "It's the most beautiful ring I've ever seen."

"For the most beautiful girl."

She cupped your cheek in her hand and you couldn't help but stare at it when she pulled away. "You know, one day I'm gonna marry you." She whispered softly.

"But, until that moment comes, I'm gonna wear this proudly. I won't ever hold back when people ask me about it. Because, throughout all the years that I've lived and the most amazing things in life that I've been able to celebrate, this is the sweetest thing anyone has ever given me. I love you more than words can say."

You parted your lips, ready to respond, when she suddenly put her arms around you and fell onto the bed, pulling you down on top of her. You laughed as you laid your cheek on her chest, listening to the relaxing sound of her heartbeat against your ear.

"Look up, beautiful girl."

You did as she said, lifting your head right away. Her lips were only inches from yours and she pulled you into a warm kiss. Although sweet at first, it quickly became more passionate. You found yourself tangling your fingers through her messy blonde locks and let out a soft sigh when she swiped her tongue over your lips.

"Happy anniversary, darling."

You smiled against her lips and whispered, "Happy anniversary, baby girl," before her lips hit yours once more and you thanked all of your lucky stars to be able to share all of these beautiful, breathtaking moments with her; because you wouldn't want to share them with anyone else.
