"that's our baby" (requested)

Your excitement was starting to get the best of you as you sat on the exam table swinging your legs back and forth and holding Taylor's hand.

"Are you excited?" Taylor asked as she put her free hand on your knee and gave it a squeeze. "Yeah. A little nervous too. Are you?"

She smiled at you and looked into your eyes. "How could I not be? We get to see our baby today. I'm so excited." You giggled a little but jumped when a gentle knock sounded on the door. In walked your doctor with a bright smile and came right over to you.

Taylor helped you lay down and the doctor pulled your shirt up before putting some gel on your stomach. "First baby?" He asked and you and Taylor both nodded in response. "How exciting!" He placed the wand over your stomach.

You suddenly felt a little anxious so you reached for Taylor's hand and bit your lip until a fuzzy image came onto the screen. "Do you see that little thing that looks like a pea? That's your baby."

You gasped and stared at it in awe. Taylor promised herself before coming here she wouldn't cry, but she knew she would, and all it took was that confirmation that your baby was okay for her to burst into tears.

"You're about six weeks." The doctor noted before looking at you both with a smile. "Feeling emotional? Let me play you this." He hit a few buttons before a loud thump was heard throughout the room.

A tear rolled down your cheek when you realized that was your baby's heartbeat. You covered your eyes as you became emotional, tears leaking out of the corners. It all felt so surreal.

Taylor chuckled before leaning her head on yours. You could feel her hot tears hitting your skin. "That's our baby..." she whispered. She was as awe-struck as you.

"I'll give you both a moment. Do you want some pictures?"

"Yes!" You and Taylor both said at the same time making the doctor laugh. "I never get told no to that question. I'll be right back then."

The door closed behind him. You and Taylor never took your eyes off of the screen. "I'm really pregnant, Taylor. this is really happening." Taylor stroked your shoulder and leaned down to kiss your damp cheek.

Taylor's experienced many exciting things in her life and in her career, but she still felt like she'd never experienced such happiness and joy. You really were starting this new chapter in your lives.

You were really having a baby.

She sniffled and squeezed your hand. "I'm so happy. I love you. Both of you."

In that moment, it felt like all the pieces fell right into place. She had everything she could ever dream of. She was already so in love with the little human inside of you and she couldn't wait to start this new and exciting journey with you.

And there was no else either of you would ever experience this exciting journey with than each other.
