Taylor sat anxiously next to you, waiting for that one important phone call. She was biting her nails, petting Meredith, squeezing your hand, doing anything she could to try to get her mind off of everything.

"Taylor, calm down. It's okay." You put your head on her shoulder and run your fingertips across her sides.

You know this means the world to her. reputation was such an important album to her and, to you, there is no one more deserving of those nominations than her.

Her ringtone interrupted your train of thought. Taylor quickly answered it.

She had the phone pressed to her ear. You couldn't quite hear everything being said, but you saw the hope and happiness fade from her eyes and you knew it wasn't good.

You put your hand on her thigh and started to rub soothing circles on her skin. She looked away from you as if she was gonna cry but she didn't want you to see.

"I just need to make a better record," she said and it made your heart drop. She said a few more words before hanging up and dropping the phone on the couch next to her.

You waited a minute before saying anything. You watched her bury her head in her hands. You heard her sniffle and once you knew she was crying your arms were around her instantly.

"Taylor? What is it?" She dropped her hands and chuckled tearfully. You watched a tear run down her cheek and you cupped them both in your palms, using your thumb to wipe away the tears.

"I didn't get any nominations." She bit her lip and finally shifted her gaze from her feet on the couch to you. "It's so important to me... but I guess it's just not good enough."

"Taylor, don't say that. reputation is amazing. Just because they can't see it doesn't mean that it isn't." She sniffled again and it broke your heart to see her like this. She didn't feel good enough. She didn't feel as though the album most important to her was good enough.

"I know that the grammy's are important to you. But they don't define you. They don't define how hard you've worked. Your fans love the album, I love the album, the ones who love you most and were there for you during that dark time in your life, which helped you to create this masterpiece, I should add, love it. Because they know how important it is to you. They know how much it means to you. And no award, no matter how big, will ever change that."

She smiled at you. Her eyes slowly starting to sparkle again.

"And, for the record, you'll always be my number one. No matter what you put out, no matter who thinks otherwise. You're the most beautiful, special, hard-working, humble, kind-hearted woman I've ever known and I'm so proud of you. Don't let this get you down. I think you're perfect."

Her smile grew wider and instead of saying something back she instead pulled you on her lap and kissed across your face. She giggled along with you before she pulled you in for a loving kiss on your lips.

"I'm so lucky to have you. What'd I ever do to deserve you, my beautiful girl?" You rested your forehead on hers and gazed into her eyes that were, again, sparkling. "I ask myself the same thing every day. You're amazing, Tay. Don't you ever forget that."

She pulled you in for another kiss. She knew, right then and there, that no award could ever compare to you.
