"You're sure you'll be alright here on your own for a bit? I feel bad for leaving you in the middle of our movie." Taylor said as she pulled her jacket over her shoulders. Olivia rubbed against her leg and she bent down to pet her before looking back over at you, only to find you with a sweet smile on your face.

"Tay, it's really not a big deal. You're needed at the studio and you even said it yourself that you won't be long. I'll be alright, I promise! I'll even turn this movie off and turn on another till you get back so you don't miss anything. I'll just snuggle with the cats and eat your snacks." You joked making her laugh before she leaned in to kiss your lips.

"Help yourself to whatever you want, baby girl. I won't be long, probably an hour at the most and it's about ten minutes there and ten minutes back so I'll be back very soon."

"Okay."

She kissed you once more before grabbing her keys and her phone and walking out the door. You fell back against the couch just as Benjamin climbed onto your lap. Without Taylor's arms around you to keep you warm you were feeling a little chilly. You didn't bring anything with you when you came over this morning, so you figured you'd go throw one of Taylor's hoodies on.

Benjamin followed behind you as you crept up the stairs and down the hall to her spacious bedroom. You've been in here many times before, but it always amazes you how spacious and how beautifully decorated it is.

You ran your fingers along her fluffy comforter that was draped around her bed. Taylor is pretty neat and always keeps her house, and especially her bedroom, clean and tidy. So it surprised you that you didn't have to look through the closet for one of her hoodies because there was one thrown on her chair by her bookcase.

You grabbed it and went to pull it over your head when you noticed that she's added a few more books to her collection. Her bookcases were filled with journals and books and her taste in stories was truly impeccable.

You ran your fingers over the top of every story and every book. You figured you'd stumble upon one that you found interesting and you'd occupy yourself with reading it until Taylor arrived home.

But one of her journals wasn't wedged in between the pother books tight enough and when you touched it, it fell onto the floor by your feet. The only intention you had was to pick it up and place it back on the shelf. After all, you try to never snoop through her personal things. Her journals could hold many things from song lyrics to personal confessions and you've established such a strong sense of trust in the four months you've been together and you don't want to ruin that.

So you picked it up and went to slip it back between the other books. But when you picked it up, you realized how light it was. Most of the pages had been torn out but there were still a few in there.

It had to be one of her journals that she used for songwriting. She probably tore a few pages out here and there when her frustration got to her.

A little curious, you couldn't help but take a peek inside. You thought you'd see a few lyrics written messily. Only, there was nothing written. The pages were blank...

Although there was something pasted onto the pages. Your curiosity was getting the better of you and you opened the journal wide to find a letter pasted onto the pages.

Only it was no random letter, it was from a fan. And as you read over the first few lines, you realized it was from no random fan... it was from you.

Before you met Taylor you were just an ordinary fan. You found comfort in her music and the sound of her voice. A few years back things had gotten tough for you and you decided to write her a letter and tell her just how much she'd changed your life.

But years passed without any response. It hurt a little at first but you moved on when you really started to realize just how many people write to her, probably with the same message as you. So you moved on and eventually, you forgot about it.

But you never imagined you'd meet Taylor and never in your wildest dreams did you think you think she'd make a move and ask you to be more than just a friend.

Looking back now at all your hard times, you're happy that you pushed through because you wouldn't be where you are now. You wouldn't have met Taylor and you never would've found the happiness you feel now.

Just as before, you still find the most comfort in her now; just like you always have.

And something about her knowing all of this makes your heart feel so warm.

You thought about taking it downstairs with you and reading back on the letter. But before you could even move, there was a voice coming from the doorway.

"Baby?"

You turned your head quickly to see Taylor standing there in shock.

"What are you doing up here?"

"I-I got cold. I figured I'd come up and borrow your hoodie."

She nodded slowly and made her way to where you were sitting on the floor. She sat beside you and placed her hand on your thigh. She brushed her fingers along your skin in soft circles and you could tell she was trying to hold back a grin when she noticed your letter on your lap.

"You kept this?"

"Of course I did. I keep a lot of things from my fans. Most of them are tucked away in boxes so they can't get lost or ruined for any reason. I know where they all are though and I read back on them sometimes. I kept yours inside a shoebox and when I met you and you told me all about yourself and the struggles you went through and the comfort you found in my music..., I knew it all sounded awfully familiar. Then I dug through the boxes and I found your letter and I pasted it to the journal to look back on whenever I'm down for any reason." She explained and watched you look at your sock-covered feet with red cheeks.

"I can't believe you kept it. I was so young when I first discovered your music but..." You paused as you lifted your head and looked at Taylor with the softest eyes. "It changed my life. You changed my life. I never heard back from you so I thought you didn't get it."

"I got it, my love. I didn't reply because I got so many that I just couldn't keep up with them. But they're all very special and important to me, and yours is even more sentimental now. You've come a long way. Reading back on your words, you said that you felt lonely and sad and you didn't know how you'd ever make it through. But you found my music and that made you happy. I like to think that it was all fate. That this was all meant to be."

You leaned your head on her shoulder and smiled softly. "I like the sound of that." You mumbled and watched Taylor lay her hand over yours. "You've always been my whole world. I've always found comfort in you and your voice. But even more so now that I can just crawl into your arms whenever and I can hear your beautiful voice each and every day."

She cupped your cheek and turned your head so she could give you a kiss.

"I've loved you from the very first day..."

She giggled against your lips, loving the sweet reference.

"I love you too." She whispered and laid her head on yours as you read the letter again together, feeling thankful that you get to be here in this moment together now.
