This entire night felt like an absolute dream. Wrapped in Taylor's arms and covered up in the throw blanket she had placed over you when you first leaned into her, you felt warmer and happier than you've ever felt before.
You lifted your head just as Taylor looked down at you. She sent you that smile that sent you head over heels for her the moment you first locked eyes. It wasn't long ago. You've only been together a couple of weeks. Tonight is your third date and when she invited you over for a home-cooked dinner instead of another night at another restaurant, you happily took the opportunity.
She brought her hand to your cheek. The feeling of her thumb brushing along your skin caused your eyes to close but they opened when she spoke your name.
"Y/N?"
"Yeah?"
She licked her suddenly dry lips and reached for the remote. She turned the tv off making the room a little darker. The lights in the living room were dimmed. It all seemed so... romantic.
She laid back down next to you, but the way you were looking at her caused her breath to hitch in her throat. "I really wanna kiss you right now." She whispered as she stroked your cheek delicately.
But something happened. Something she didn't quite expect. You pulled away and focused on your hand on your lap instead. You were quiet; too quiet for Taylor to feel comfortable with, especially after what she'd just confessed to you.
"You don't want to kiss me?" She asked, confused and a little saddened at the thought.
"No! No. That's not it." You sighed and when you looked back down at your hand, you watched Taylor lay her hand over yours. She brushed her thumb over your knuckles. She could sense you were a little nervous about something. Something was on your mind and she was determined to find out what it was.
"Then what is it, darling?"
A simple shrug of your shoulders was all she got in return. But it was not enough. "You can tell me. I care about you, Y/N. Something is on your mind, I can tell. You can talk to me about whatever it is."
Her voice was so soft and her words so sweet. Looking up, meeting her beautiful eyes, you could tell she was being genuine and sweet. Even though you haven't known her for long, it was easy to see that she wasn't someone that lied or manipulated people to get her way. She cares about people; she cares about you.
"I've never kissed a girl before. I never really kissed anyone before, if I'm honest. My first kiss was just a simple peck. It wasn't really a kiss."
When you looked away from her she was quick to squeeze your hand to get you to look back up. "That's okay." She smiled softly. "You shouldn't be ashamed of that. You shouldn't be nervous to tell me that. It's alright."
"Really?"
She nodded and brushed her other hand along your cheek in response. "I'm not gonna push you into anything. Not now, not ever. There are two people in this relationship and I want us to be on the same page. If you're not ready for anything, we don't have to do anything you don't ever wanna do. If you're not ready for our first kiss yet then,"
"No." You interrupted. "I am."
You watched her lips tug up in a smile before she spoke again.
"You're sure?"
This time, it was you that squeezed her hand. "I've never been more sure of anything in my life." You confessed.
To be honest, you weren't sure what you expected after that. A chuckle? A response like 'you're cute', or maybe for the question to fall from her lips once more.
But instead, she just leaned in.
But her lips didn't immediately crash into yours as you expected. She kept her lips so close to yours, so close you could feel her warm breath on your lips. You could smell the mint on her soft, pink lips.
She gazed into your eyes for a second before she brushed her lips on yours. Softly, at first. Just a soft, tiny brush.
But you quickly looped your arms around her neck and initiated another kiss. This one much longer and much more passionate than the last one. Taylor was practically putty in your hands. She melted right into you; right into your kiss.
She put her hands on your sides and her heart started to beat a little faster and a little harder in her chest. She could feel the sparks. She could feel the fire rushing through her veins and in the skip in her heart. She'd never felt anything like this before.
It was perfect.
You were perfect.
But you were pulling away much too soon for her liking. But she let you. Because she meant it when she said she wasn't gonna push you into anything you weren't comfortable with and as much as she wanted to keep kissing you, she wasn't about to break that promise.
"You're amazing." You smiled and moved your hands to her cheeks. You could tell she was blushing. Her cheeks were turning red and they were warm beneath your touch.
"You're amazing." She whispered back to you and slowly leaned in again, happy that you did the same and that, once again, your lips were back on hers. Because she never wanted this moment with you to end.
