You frantically pulled the sheets off the bed and shook them out, just like you've done with all of the blankets and even the pillowcases.

You can't find your ring anywhere. Your promise ring from Taylor. You don't know what happened to it but you realized it was missing just a couple hours ago and you've been looking for it everywhere since.

You let out a few curse words and threw the sheets back on the bed before you started to cry. You really lost it and you don't know what to tell Taylor.

"Whoa. What happened to our bed?" Taylor joked as she stepped into the room. But her smile fell when she saw you crying. She sat next to you and wrapped her arm around you. "Darling? What's wrong?" You didn't know what to tell her. She took your left hand in hers, you always wear your promise ring on your ring finger and now there's nothing. You knew you had no choice but to tell her.

"I lost my ring..." You sniffled. "I'm so sorry, Taylor. I thought maybe it got caught in the sheets or the blankets, but it didn't. I've looked for it everywhere, ever since I noticed it was missing and I can't find it anywhere. I'm so sorry."

You looked down at her hand and that's when you realized that Taylor's was also gone. "Wait. Taylor? Where's your ring?" She smiled a little and pulled the box out from her pocket. "I wanted to surprise you over dinner one day soon, but I got our rings put on matching necklaces. I figured you'd like it" she carefully pulled yours out of the small box.

You let out a breath of relief. "I didn't mean to make you panic, darling. I'm sorry." You lifted your hair out of the way so she could put the necklace around you. She pressed a couple of kisses to your neck and mumbled a few apologies against your skin. "It's okay, Tay."

You looked down at the necklace that held your beautiful ring. "It's gorgeous. But why the necklaces?" She chuckled as you grabbed her necklace and put it on for her. "Well, I was kinda thinking that maybe we should keep your ring finger ready for the next ring I plan on buying you soon."

She put her head on your shoulder and watched your cheeks go pink. "Really?" "Yeah, really." You couldn't stop smiling. "How soon?"

Taylor chuckled and kissed your shoulder. "Very soon, beautiful girl. I promise."
