Taylor could hear the sound of your five-year-old daughter, Emily, laughing in the kitchen downstairs. It's only a little after 9 am and she's already so full of energy.

She finished getting ready and grabbed her things for the day before going downstairs. Your hair was up in a messy bun, your tank top was slipping down your arm but you were laughing along with Emily, and it made Taylor smile wide.

"Good morning!" She said gleefully as she walked into the kitchen. She kissed your cheek and then walked over to Emily to kiss her head softly. "Good morning, baby girl." She whispered softly and tucked a strand of her hair behind her little ear. "What are you two gonna get up to today?" She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and walked over to you. "We're going to the park!"

Taylor giggled at Emily's excitement. "Really? Well, have lots of fun and be good." Emily nodded her head and continued to eat her breakfast. "You call me if you need anything. I won't be home late. I love you both lots. Have a very good day." She said and kissed you softly before grabbing her things and giving Emily a hug before walking out the door for the day.

"Okay, Ems. Finish your breakfast and then we'll head out. I'm gonna go get dressed." You kissed her cheek and went upstairs to get dressed. When you came back down a couple of minutes later you saw Emily's plate was empty and had gone over to play with her toys on the floor.

You put her plate in the sink before going over to your daughter with her shoes. "Ready?" She nodded her head and stuck her feet out for you to put her shoes on. You tied them for her and she raced to the front door excitedly. You laughed and grabbed your phone and other necessities. You felt a hand tug on yours. "Come on, mommy!" You giggled over how excited your daughter was as she practically dragged you out the door.

You spent a good hour and a half in the park. You watched Emily run around for a few before you joined in and started to run around with her. She got tired out and was ready to go home.

She had her arms around your neck as you walked to the car. "Don't move" you heard a deep voice say and when you turned your head you saw a man in a mask standing behind you.

"Stay still and shut up." You felt him grab your bag and empty it on the ground. "Please don't hurt us." You begged, your only focus on keeping Emily safe. "You can take whatever you want. Just leave us alone." You tried to stay calm but you were starting to panic.

As he started to dig through the items on the ground you put Emily down and stood in front of her to protect her. You saw your keys laying on the ground and you reached for them, very very carefully.

But he grabbed your waist before you could do anything with the keys. They fell back on the ground and you started to kick the man. "Stop!" He yelled out and pushed you on the ground.

He got on top of you and as hard as you tried to fight him, he quickly got control of the situation. He grabbed your head and looked at you for a second. You couldn't see his face but his eyes were filled with hatred and anger.

You were terrified. You only cared about Emily at that point. And as you tried to tilt your head back to look for her he bashed it on the ground. Followed by a couple of punches and kicks to your face and stomach.

Your head started to pound as things started to go black. You heard him grumbling to himself and grabbing ahold of things before he ran off.

Emily stood back with tears in her eyes. She saw blood by your head and she bent down by you. She started to cry as she shook her shoulder. "Mommy?" She yelled out and when you started to open your eyes she put her face in your neck. You could feel her tears falling to your skin. "Emily?" You put your hand on her back. You carefully sat up with blood in your hair and slowly falling down. You could feel it on your face too. You could only imagine how bad you looked.
