Walking into the house after a boring day out with your friends, you just sat on the floor and buried your face in your hands.

They took you out to try to cheer you up and take your mind off of today. But it was hard to forget such a special day, one you held so close to your heart. It's not just your anniversary. It's your fourth one, and your first one being engaged, so Taylor being away for this one was a bit harder on you than usual.

You decided you didn't want to sulk on the living room floor. You wanted to go crawl into bed and eat ice cream while you waited for Taylor to call or text you.

But when you lifted your head, that's when you saw it; your backdoor was open. That's weird because you know you made sure it was locked before heading out with your friends a few hours ago. You even checked more than once. How could it be open?

You took in a shaky breath and tiptoed over to the door. You didn't know what you'd find but you feared the worse.

So you were shocked when you were met with the sight of Taylor standing in the backyard with food and flowers on a table for two and a beautiful smile on her face.

You stepped outside and pushed the door closed before running to her. She happily held her arms out for you and when you were in her embrace she squealed excitedly. "You're home! How? When?"

"Baby, I've had this all planned out, even before I left. Your friends were in on it too. I landed this morning and made sure to tell them when I got here. They took you out so I could set this all up perfectly. Do you like it?"

You looked around in awe. It all looked so beautiful; the food looked so delicious and the flowers looked stunning, but not nearly as stunning as Taylor did.

"It looks beautiful. But you look even more beautiful, Tay."

She laughed and took your hand into hers, kissing it softly. "I was supposed to say that to you."

You buried your face in her neck and hugged her for a moment before giving her a soft kiss, one you've been craving since she went away a couple of months ago.

"I love you, my beautiful fiancee." She smiled and pecked your lips softly. "Happy anniversary."

"Happy anniversary, Taylor."

She pulled the chair out for you to sit down on and then served you a plate.

You listened with wide, fascinated eyes as she spoke about the tour, rattling off some of her favorite moments so far. Even though she wasn't gonna be home for long you still felt grateful that she was even there with you at all.

She had already made it the best anniversary by being there with you. But you also knew next years would be even better; when she'd finally be your wife.
