Matt's POV: When Gabby mentioned that the reason I went in to save Severide might've been because I didn't want his son Stephen to grow up without a father, I wished that was the main reason. However, it wasn't. The main reason was because I didn't want to loose another one of my friends to a fire. But that definitely might've played a role in my decision making process.

"Was that a factor in me running into the building to save him? Yes, of course it was Gabby. But there was a lot. Between him being my best friend and of course new father...those are easy things to say that it was the reason. But complete honesty, it was pure fear. Gabby, we just lost Boden last month. Heck, some of us are still grieving how we lost Andy all these years later! You really think that I want to have another situation where we loose one of my men on my first day as chief. And not just any one of my men...but my squad lieutenant? Sorry but, that's too much."

Gabby then went to grab my hand and nodded as she intertwined our fingers. I then went to kiss her head and just whispered to her. "Gabby, I love you and I really want to keep my promise to stay out of harm's way and fires. But Gabby...if I have a chance to save any of my men, I will take the risk. They are family to me. They are my brothers and sisters. If you were a cop babe...you would gladly take a bullet for Antonio before you let him take a bullet for you." Gabby laughed and agreed with me. "Trust me, you are not wrong there. I need to relax don't I?" I nodded.

"Listen, can we just get off this topic? I promised not to bring work home. Well at least not when you and the kids are awake. It's going to hard but, I am not ready to talk about this." Gabby nodded and smiled. "Then what do you want to talk about?" Turning to look at Antonio and Sylvie, I smiled at them. "How the pregnancy is going for Sylvie. You are in your last month." Sylvie laughed when I said that. "Yeah, it's going great. No more problems. Just need to work on getting bigger down there if you know what I mean." Gabby then smiled. "You going natural?"

Sylvie bit her lip when she asked that. "I was thinking about it. I mean, is it hard?" Gabby nodded and sighed. "It hurts like hell too. Believe me, that was one time I was glad I took an epidural. I am just glad we never have to go through it again. Sorry but, the guys think it's fun watching your wife give birth...try having to do the pushing and stuff for hours. That is hard as hell and it is not fun. I think I literally burned a couple hundred calories just getting Wally out. Little buggar made us wait 12 hours before he came out."

I laughed when Gabby said that before smiling. At least, I was smiling until Ella started to cry in his uncle's arms. "And that must mean he's hungry." Gabby then turned to look at me and smiled. "I made a couple bottles. How about you go grab one and you can feed her okay? He might want some daddy time." I agreed and smiled. "Here, how about you take Wally and we can switch? Antonio can take her." Gabby nodded and smiled as she took Ella from me.

Once I gave Ella to Gabby, I walked away to the kitchen to go grab a bottle for her as well as heat it up. Meanwhile, Antonio and Gabby switch which babies they were each holding. "You sleep at all recently Gabby? You look exhausted if I'm being honest." Gabby sighed when he said that. "I try to sleep. But my OCD makes me wonder how the kids are. Mama bear sometimes."

I laughed when she said that. Gabby then turned to look at me, obviously not impressed. "Have something to say Matthew?" Antonio then smirked. "Oh, the Matthew came out. Somebody's in trouble." Walking over with some milk, I stared at Antonio. "And if you don't give me a heads up when you are on my scene...then I am going to be mad. C'mon Antonio, you know information is everything when it comes to saving people's lives. You knew I was the closest firehouse. You could've sent me information ahead of time and then I could've gone much faster."

Antonio sighed and agreed with me as I sat down next to Gabby. "Here, give me my little princess. Daddy's going to feed her while you relax." I then put my feet up on the coffee table while Gabby gave me Ella in my arms. Giving her the bottle, I smiled as I just looked at him. "I swear, she is just the best. Not a diva at all." Gabby laughed when I said that and smiled at me. "However, she is not a sleeper at night." I then sighed when she said that. "How many times?" Gabby bit her lip and tried to remember. "11, 2:30 and 5."

I nodded and agreed with her before going to kiss her head. "When is Wally due for a feeding?" Gabby looked at me and then went to get up. "Antonio, I am going to make him a bottle. You want to feed him?" Antonio nodded and agreed. "Sure, I wouldn't mind helping out." Gabby smiled when he said that before going to get him a bottle ready. "However, think maybe after we can have some time? I know you guys want to be here but...I already getting tired and wouldn't mind having a bit of time with Matt as the kids slept upstairs in their cribs."

I then turned to look at her. "What about Matteo?" Gabby bit her lip when I said that. "He can hang with us. I just want to snuggle in bed with my man and take a nap. Sorry, still tired." I nodded and understood. "Gabby, you sure that you don't want to put Matteo in daycare during the day? I get at night you want him here but...it might give you time to catch up on sleep. Plus, he needs to make some friends before he starts Junior Pre-K full-time in the fall. I mean, that is still the plan right?" Gabby nodded when I said that meanwhile, Antonio looked at me (obviously not knowing what it is). "What's Junior Pre-K?"

Gabby smiled when Antonio asked that. "It's more advanced than preschool. It's a program that is more like Pre-K but, with a preschool curriculum. It's just preparation for elementary school. Rather do it early. That and they do testing for learning disabilities. By the way babe, the kids have an appointment with Dr. Garson at 10 on Friday." I nodded while turning to look at her. "I promise, I'll try my best to be there. It's just hard. Maybe I can call in? I know it's not ideal but..." Gabby nodded and agreed. "I get it. Chief." I sighed. "We can talk about it soon when we are relaxing in bed together." Gabby nodded and agreed as she walked over to me, ready to relax.
