Chapter 133

Jay's POV: After making our way to Matt & Gabby's new place (and mistakenly going to their old place), I looked at Matt's amazing car as I parked across the street from his house. "Is that a Tesla Model X?" Erin then smiled as she got out before opening her door for Lucky. (She sat behind Erin now since she could get her out but she couldn't get Olivia out because she was pregnant). "I think it is, but you can ask Matt considering he is right there." Matt then turned to look at me when he heard Erin. "Hey guys, glad you guys could come."

I then smiled as I walked up to him before going to hug him. "That niece of yours is cute." Matt nodded. "Sorry, but I think my daughter is cuter. Then again, I'm biased." He then turned to look at Lucky. "She on or off duty?" I then turned to look at Lucky and smiled as she walked up to me. Grabbing her leach, I then looked at Matt. "She's off duty. Just need to grab her stuff from the back." I then went to open the tailgate to grab the bag with Lucky's bowls, toys and her bed for when we stayed at someone's place for a bit.

Matt then looked at me. "Here, give me the dog bed. And you are bringing it because?" I then looked at him. "If we bring it, she stays off people's couches." Erin then smiled as she carried Olivia and walked up to me. "You guys have a crib we can use? It's her nap time. We forgot one." Matt nodded and smiled. "She can sleep in Ella's crib if required. They are almost 5 months apart so...not that big of a difference." I nodded and agreed as I went to wrap my arm around Erin and smiled at her. "Want to head inside?"

Erin then smiled at me. "Matt, how about you give me the mail and your keys. Jay wants to look at your car." Matt then laughed when I said that. "The door is unlocked. Mailbox is right there. But sure, let's show you this car you seem to like." Erin then agreed while looking at Matt. "Don't be long. I want to hang out with him too. I want to talk about how Puerto Rico went. I mean, the time after we left of course." Matt nodded and smiled. "Sure thing. Tell Gabby I'll be right in."

Erin nodded and smiled as she went to hug him before walking away with Olivia. Meanwhile, me and Matt walked over to his Tesla. "So, how is the Chief today?" Matt laughed and smiled. "Good. By the way, that mutt there stays out of this new car. It still has the new car smell and I want it to stay that way until Valentine's Day. Gabby hasn't ridden in this car much and I want to use it when we go on our date." I then turned to look at him. "You haven't given your wife a ride in your Tesla?" I laughed. "Maybe once on a date. Dude, we've been busy. 3 kids remember?"

I then went to look inside. "This have the autopilot shit?" Matt nodded and then went to grab his keys. "Yes. This is the Model X. And best part, I get free charging." I then looked at him. "How?" Matt smirked. "CFD has installed these in all chief parking lots. They are trying to incentivize chiefs to go green considering how much pollution we put into the air every time we go out on a call. I added up the numbers, and bought this with my signing bonus. I then did the math and compared it to how much my old beater cost me in gas yearly. This actually saves me 75%."

I was shocked when he said that. "Woah. That's a lot." I nodded. "But, it goes right back to the kids. I am just glad the babies aren't old enough to care weather they both wear black or blue on the same day. Or whether the color is too girly. I am not going to buy too many pink outfits. I mean sure, maybe a few to make her look pretty darn cute. But, that's it. Anyways, she's already pretty cute based on who her parents are. I mean, look at my face." I laughed when he said that. "Severide was right, you are a cocky SOAB!" 

Matt laughed as he wrapped his arm around me. "By the way, when was the last time you saw Theo and Eva?" I then thought about it. "Would probably be Puerto Rico." Matt smiled when I said that. "Then how about you come with me and you can see them?" I agreed and nodded while looking at Lucky. "C'mon girl, let's head inside." I then smiled as I went to lead her inside to see Gabby, Eva and Diego. "You know, I think I've seen Gabby once since you became chief." Matt then turned to look at me. "Wow, that has to change more."

We both agreed and nodded as we walked in together, ready to hang out as friends. "By the way, stay as long as you want. We need adult time with friends." I agreed and smiled, ready to have a bit of adult time with him and Gabby myself.
