Matt's POV: As I brought Gabby upstairs to what was my childhood bedroom, I could help but smile since I saw there was now a toddler bed in my room while there was two cribs in Christie's old bedroom. "Okay so this room here at the top of the stairs was Christie's bedroom." Gabby then walked in and smiled. "Cute, she must've recently added the cribs." I nodded and agreed. "She is preparing for when she has all 3 of our kids I bet." Gabby laughed and smiled as she turned around. "Now, your bedroom?" I nodded and went to grab her hand again, intertwining our fingers. I then went to bring her into my room and smiled. "Just to let you know, I do have a lot of good memories in here except for my last one." Gabby then turned around and looked at me. I then sighed and looked at her. "This was where my dad uhm..." Gabby just nodded.

"Hey, you don't have to say anything. I already know what he did to you Matt." Wrapping her arms around me, I then went to rub her arms and smiled. "That is the hard part about being here. Maybe we shouldn't live here in the future. Whenever I come in here, that's all I am going to think about." Gabby nodded and understood as she leaned up and kissed me softly. "Matt, I am here for you. Whatever you need." I nodded when she said that before going to kiss her softly. I then just wrapped my arms around her. "There is a lot of memories that are positive yet also very raw in here. It's hard to explain." Gabby then looked up at me. "Matt, you don't have to explain. Remember, my brother is a cop and I am a paramedic. I know what you went through."

I sighed and looked down. "I guess it just makes me feel ashamed that I still feel these horrible, raw emotions all these years later. I mean, I have a great life now and I am still nervous around here. Scared of opening the closet door there and finding my dad's belt." I then teared up a bit and felt Gabby rub my back. I then turned around and went to hug her, just holding her in my arms. "It's official. We aren't moving here." I nodded and agreed as I went to lean back and then looked at her before wrapping my arms around her. I then leaned down to kiss her softly and smiled. "I love you Gabby and I am glad you are here with me. I am going to need to be by your side when we come here. This place is not easy to come to." Gabby then sighed.

"Are you going to talk to your mom?" I then sighed. "What can I say Gabby? I can't let you live here because I am not comfortable being here? Gabby, I can't tell her that." Gabby then just held me in her arms while I rubbed her back. "I promise Matt, things will get easier. Just remember that I am going to be here with you every time." I nodded and agreed as I went to kiss her forehead. That's when I decided to continue with the tour before deciding to just head downstairs. "God, it's hard to be here with those bad memories." That's when I heard my mom. "You still have those memories eh Matt?" I then sighed and nodded as I came down the stairs. "Don't you mom?" My mom then nodded. "I am thinking of moving out soon. This is just a rental. Needed somewhere quick until I find something permanent."

I nodded and understood. "Just promise me that you aren't going to stay here too long. You are going to want to move eventually." My mom agreed. "Listen, come have breakfast...have a laugh and then you can get to shift." I nodded and agreed as I went to hug her. Making our way to the kitchen together, I smiled as we prepared to go to work later.
