Jay's POV: After making my way into Matt & Gabby's place, I stared at it in awe. "Woah, this place is nicer than my place." Matt then laughed. "Believe me, this is where some of the money I save on gas goes towards. The mortgage on my place." I then looked down at Lucky and then looked at Matt. "Should I keep her on her leach?" Matt then bit his lip. "Gabby, can you make sure the babies are higher than normal? Lucky's here." Gabby then walked over and looked at me before biting her lip. "Jay, can you do me a favor and keep her on her leach?" Taking off my jacket, I nodded. "Let me guess, her being here is giving you some anxiety and OCD about it?"
Matt then walked over to her and wrapped his arm around her. "You okay?" Gabby then wrapped her arms around him. Kissing her forehead, Matt whispered to her. "Gabby, this is our home. Tell Jay what you want to do with Lucky." Gabby then turned to look at me. "Can you leave her on her leach? Jay it's not that I don't trust that you didn't train her. It's just...Wally isn't even a month old. And I am a bit more protective about him getting hurt since he is named after our former chief." Matt then turned to look at her, just realizing that himself. "Hey, can we talk about that later?" Gabby nodded as she put her hand on his cheek, kissing him softly.
"Sure. Just know. If that mutt there hurts any of my kids, she's banished to her crate in your truck and you are on your own when it comes to PTSD." I then stared at her and then shook my head. I then went to express my disgust. To my deep surprise, Matt was on my side. "Gabby! Apologize to Jay. He is a veteran." Gabby then sighed and nodded. "I'm sorry Jay. I just have a lot on my mind. Can we just hang out so that I can go take a nap? Remember, not even a month post-birth." Matt then walked up to her and wrapped his arm around her. "Hey, I am sorry I took his side okay? Let's go sit together and then we'll take a nap when they've met the kids."
Gabby nodded and agreed as she went to kiss him when they walked away to go sit in the living room. Taking off my shoes, I then went to walk over to the living room too with Lucky. Following behind the, I then went to sit with Erin. "Gabby, it's okay. I am sorry for getting mad. It's just...I guess I didn't expect that from you. Plus, you've seen her with Matteo. You know she won't hurt your kids. She's trained not to hurt anybody. I promise Gabby, your kids are safe. And you know that because of the fact she never hurt Matteo during our trip to the cabin and then Puerto Rico. By the way, I want to talk to you guys about that. How was the last few months there?"
Erin smiled when I said that. "Yeah, I want to know how it went. I got some information and stories from Jesse but...nothing concrete." Gabby then sighed. "We don't talk about her here. Not after what her ex-boyfriend did to us." Erin then looked at her and then sighed, remembering that. "I am so sorry, Hank told me that. I shouldn't have said anything." Gabby nodded and just looked at Matt as he held her hand. He then went to kiss her head, smiling. "Ella is safe here with us. They have no claim to her, it's all settled." I then looked at him. "What?"
Matt sighed. "Talk to Hank. He can explain everything. Let's not talk about it." I nodded and agreed, understanding that it must be a hard topic to talk about. Once we got past it, I looked at them. "Now, back to Puerto Rico. How much did you guys get done?" Gabby then sighed. "I did most of the planning. Matt did construction. I was put on desk duty when we found out because of something that happened during my first Puerto Rico pregnancy. Uhm, I was volunteering and a whole bunch of rocks came tumbling down. Almost fell on my baby bump."
Matt then looked at Gabby while kissing her forehead. "It's okay Gabby, you are safe now. Just relax and thing...we have 3 wonderful kids and you are here with people who love you." Gabby smiled when he said that before leaning up to kiss him softly. "How do you always know the right thing to say." Matt smiled when she said that when he heard Matteo come downstairs. "Jayjay!" I then laughed when Matteo said that. "Hey buddy." I then got up and went to bend down to hug him. "Can I pet Lucy?" I then looked at him and nodded. "It's Lucky bud."
Matteo then nodded as he looked at Lucky and then went to put her. She then looked up at him and growled a bit. That got Matteo scared and he then ran over to Matt. "Papa, she growled at me." I then looked down at Lucky and nudged her. "Hey, no growling at babies." I then looked at Erin as she held Olivia. "Especially not Olivia." Erin smiled and agreed as I turned to look at Matt and Gabby. "Sorry about that guys." Matteo then looked at me from Matt's lap. Getting up and walking over, Matt then helped Matteo. "Hey girl, you remember me?"
He put his hand out and then let Lucky sniff him when she turned to look at me. I then nodded, giving her the signal that she is in pet mode. She then let Matt rub her head. "Here Matteo, your turn." Matteo then nodded as he went to pet her and smiled. "Good girl." I then smiled when Lucky let him pet her. "Papa, I go play upstairs okay? I still scared." Matt nodded and went to kiss his head as he walked over to him. "It's okay bud, just go have fun." Matteo nodded and agreed as he ran upstairs.
I then turned to look at them both and sighed. "Sorry about that guys. If you want me to..." Matt then shook his head. "It's okay Jay. She looks tired anyways. That's probably why she growled." I then looked at her before nodding as I went to rub her head. "Still, she shouldn't have growled regardless. She is in pet/service dog mode, not police dog mode." Matt nodded and agreed. "By the way, you guys moved right?" Jay nodded and agreed. "Yeah, couldn't stay there anymore." I agreed. "So uhm, I heard there was a case near there for you guys through the CFD grapevines. They said that they had another undetonated bomb. How did you react to that?"
