Firehouse 51-Firehouse 90 Joint Fire

Matt's POV: As we arrived at the fire at Roosevelt Collection Shops, I went to grab my jacket and piut it on before walking over to the scene. "Severide, get your guys and do a quick search. This is just a strip mall so it shouldn't take long." Severide then turned to look at me and nodded. I then looked at Stella since she was also on scene. "You stay back okay Stella?" Stella nodded and agreed when I heard my counterpart at Firehouse 90 along with Cordova walk over to us. "Chiefs." I then turned to look at Jake and smiled when I realized who I was working with.

"Chief Patterson, how are you?" I then went to shake his hand. "Glad to be working with you again. Mind if I take Jake under my command for a bit since he's normally with my guys?": I then looked at Jake and nodded. "Yeah, as long as he comes back to my firehouse after. Cordova, work with your house okay?" Cordova agreed and went to join his guys. Meanwhile, Patterson walked up to me. "You the one that requested him?" I shook my head. "No, he was assigned to me. Hermann's out with family stuff. His son who's my candidate got hurt at the house."

He agreed and nodded. "Jake there temporarily?" I nodded. "Now, fire. I was just sending squad in quick. Not going to take long considiering it's just a strip mall." He agreed and nodded. "Too bad we didn't get here sooner. We could've gotten something nice for our wives to wear in a few days." I laughed when he said that because there was a Victoria's Secret store here. "Wait, when did you get married?" He then laughed. "Before I knew you. 2010. Daughter Layla in 2012." I smiled and nodded. "You learn things everyday."

He nodded and agreed. "Especially you considering you are learning on the go." I agreed and smiled when I saw Severide come out. "All clear Chiefs." I then nodded and agreed. "You guys connected to the water Patterson?" He shook his head. "We'll just help. It's tiny." I agreed before getting on the radio. "Firehouse 51, partner with somebody from Firehouse 90 and let's knock this sucker out!" They all agreed and grabbed the hoses tow ork ont he fire with assistance from Firehouse 90. "You able to get anything in VS Severide?" He laughed and shook his head.

Patterson then turned to look at me. "So, how's your first week as Chief been Casey?" I smiled when he asked. "Eventful. I got a new candidate, he got injured. And then my sister-in-law gave birth to her daughter prematurely." Patterson then got worried. "How much premature?" I then smiled. "Only a month." He agreed and nodded. "They still in the hospital or are they going to be released soon?" I sighed. "Need to get an update from my brother-in-law." He agreed and smiled. "Can you let us know when you get news Casey? Sylvie's one of our own."

I nodded and smiled. "Oh, by the way Patterson...I requested that Jake stay for February 12th-13th. I told Hermann to stay out then too. Do you mind sparing him those days as well?" Patterson was confused. "Days?" Severide laughed. "Oh, you didn't hear? The CFD lets houses choose whether they do 24 hour shifts or 2 consecutive 12 hour shifts. We are set up to do the 2 consecutive 12 hour shifts from 8 to 8." We all agreed and smiled as our houses work together so that we can get the fires out. "Severide, if you are done...go work on your report please?"

He agreed and nodded. "You are still making them do their reports?" I laughed and nodded. "They get to do it online though. I take them home instead of staying late. I have 3 kids now." Patterson nodded and remembered. "You going for 4?" I laughed and shook my head. "Yeah no. The minute we got pregnant with our 3rd, I got a vasectomy. We are not going for #4. Heck, 3 is already too much when they are all currently under the age of 2!" Dallas nodded and agreed. "Don't worry, it gets easier the older they grow up." I nodded and agreed.

"Yeah, just remember that my kids are half-latino and latina." Dallas smiled. "You have a daughter?" I nodded. "1, Ella Maria. Our 2 other boys are Matteo and Wally. I named him after Boden. In fact, Gabby went into labor the day I was supposed to fly up for the funeral. I was in Puerto Rico at the time doing mission work." We both agreed and nodded as we turned our attention back to our men. "LIsten, let's just get this done. Then we can head back to our houses. I promise, you can get Jake back soon." He nodded and agreed as we got to work with our men.
