Chapter 88

Matt's POV: Once me and Gabby made our way into my office, Voight gave us some legal documents from Jesse. "I am not sure what it is. Want me to stay?" I sighed as I turned to look at Gabby. "We opening them here?" Gabby nodded and then looked at me. Opening the envelope, I was confused when I went to see what it was. It was a court petition for joint-custody of Ella. The reason? We have returned to the firehouse and that was not part of the contract. Gabby just stared at me. "You've got to be kidding me." I then stared at Voight. "This is a prank right? This is a fucking prank!" I started to get furious. Voight shook his head. "Apparently, it was a condition that you were not to return to the firehouse if she carried your child."

I stared at him. "No, it wasn't! She isn't even bloody related to our daughter! Where she living? I want to talk to the bitch." Gabby then turned to look at me. "Matt!" I then looked at her. "Gabby, this is Ella we are talking about. Our daughter! How are you so calm about this? This is Andre and Louie all over again! She has no legal claim to her because we are her parents. She never even met her as requested. She is a stranger to her." Voight sighed and looked at me. "What do you want me to do?" I then looked at Gabby. "Where she living? I am going to go talk to her and get her to remove her request. I don't give a damn if it's intimidation! She has no right to do this because she already signed away all rights to our daughter!"

Voight sighed. "She's not the one who started the petition. I just wanted to say this. It was her boyfriend. He was overseas while she was pregnant. They talked and he thought it was his kid." I then got scared. "Oh my god. And he's using her because she has the most rights to the baby since she was the surrogate. Fuck!" I then went to slam the papers onto the desk. "Voight, where is she living? She with the boyfriend? I need to give that damn stranger a piece of my mind." Voight then looked at me. "I'll go with you. Antonio told me about why you needed her. This is wrong on so many levels." I then turned to look at Gabby. "Gabby, I am going to talk to her and her boyfriend." Gabby then looked at me as I went to grab my jacket.

"Voight, let's go. You are taking me there. Gabby, I will resolve this." Gabby then nodded as she turned to look at me and kissed me softly. "Please do." I nodded and agreed as I walked out with Voight. "You are driving. I am too furious to drive." I then walked out past the common room and looked at my captains. "Hermann! Severide! You are in charge of the house for a bit. Have to do stuff." They could tell I was mad and just nodded. "Gabby okay with it?" I nodded and agreed, ready to go confront the SOAB who is trying to take my daughter away from me!
