Chapter 157

Matt's POV: After getting the babies in the Tesla, I gave Gabby the keys so she could drive. Me being tired, I just wanted to relax. "You sure?" I nodded. "I want to relax." Gabby then stepped close to me before wrapping her arm around my back. "Matt, look at me. You okay?" I then sighed while putting my hands on her hips. "I am just worried about Lee Henry. It's hitting me harder than I thought. That's two injuries to my men since I started already." Gabby then nodded before leaning up to kiss me softly. "Everything is going to be okay, I promise Matt. Just relax."

I then looked at her and smiled. "I want you to help me relax okay? We can put the kids in their cribs, they can sleep and we can just see where things lead us. I know it's risky but..." Gabby just looked at me and nodded as she kissed me softly. Grabbing her neck, I then took it slow with her while we stood next to the Tesla. "After hard days, that's really what I need." Gabby smiled. "And I completely understand that Matt. That's why I am not objecting to it. I started taking the pill anyways. I just want to be safe okay?" I smiled and nodded. "Good idea."

Gabby smiled as she wrapped her arms around me while I kissed her forehead. "Listen, let's get going okay? It's already late and we need to put those ones to bed. Then we are going upstairs to take a shower or something. I smell." Gabby smiled and agreed. "How does a bath sound? We have that big jacuzzi bath upstairs in our room and I would love to use it for a while." I smiled and agreed with Gabby. "That sounds perfect and hopefully, we can use it. Depends on whether those babies of ours co-operate. If not, we can just hold each other in bed."

Gabby smiled and agreed with me before going to kiss me softly. "Get in the car so we can get going." I nodded and agreed as I let her go. She then went to walk around the car and got into the driver's seat while I went to get into the passenger seat. "Want to grab anything on the way home or are you okay form when we had supper earlier here at the house?" I then looked at her and thought about it. "I am fine Gabby. Let's just head home. I want to rest with my beautiful wife in my arms." Gabby smiled when I said that and nodded.

Pulling away from the firehouse, Gabby just went to drive home that night because it was what we needed. "You know, I love how co-operative and helpful the CFD is being. I just hope we aren't pushing too much." I nodded and looked at her. "Gabby, we aren't...I promise. I worked it out in my contract to not have to work overnight. This was the regular schedule so, we aren't doing anything that we aren't allowed to do. And honestly, I want to talk to Mouch about setting this up permanently. It's not healthy to work 24 hours straight."

Gabby nodded and agreed. "Honestly, I think that was probably one of the biggest things that came in between us last time. We were always working. Either at the firehouse or at Molly's. Then we did stuff during the day. So, us working these long shifts are hard. And honestly, I want to be home with you as much as possible. It gives us time to be husband, wife and parents. That's our priority and we need to keep it our priority." I nodded and agreed with her. "And if that means we have to work 24 hours on over 2 days and then get 48 hours off...then so be it."

I smiled when Gabby said that. "That's my thinking exactly. Now listen, enough talking and time to relax okay? We are on our way home...time to stop thinking about work." Gabby smiled and agreed with me, ready to just relax in bed with me that night.
