Matt's POV: After waking up a bit early this morning, I smiled as I decided to take a shower alone. It would allow me to help downstairs and give Gabby a break with the kids. Thinking I was going to be alone, I had the shower on colder than I normally would if Gabby was joining me considering I wanted to preserve the hot water for her. It's just one of the little things I do for her. That's when I felt her hands on my back. "God Matt, this water is freezing." Turning to look at her, I smiled. "I kept it cold since I knew you would want a hot shower." Gabby smiled and agreed with me. Stepping close to me, she went to wrap her arms around my waist and then kissed me softly. " I am so glad the I am coming to the firehouse with the kids today." I nodded and agreed.

Moving her in front of me, I felt her move her hands to my chest while I wrapped my arms around her. I then went to turn the shower temperature up so that it was more to Gabby's liking. "We eating at the firehouse?" I sighed. "You can. But, I need to eat here just in case there is a call right when I get there. Either that or I can grab a bagel, eat on the way. You can drive." Gabby smiled and agreed. "Just make sure you park in the chief's space in the back instead of on the road. We can park the van there now considering it is my spot." Gabby smiled and agreed. "You going to be able to help bring stuff in or am I going to have you ask the Jr. Candidate for help?" I smiled as I looked at her. "No, I will help as much as I can. Until you are set up, I am daddy."

Gabby smiled when I said that before going to grab some soap. Starting to wash me, I then decided to do the same so that I could wash her. "Today is going to be fun. Matteo is going to be so happy that he is coming with us. I haven't told him yet. I will do it when I go wake him up." Gabby smiled and liked that idea. "That sounds great. Can you take care of him and I can take care of the babies? Or do you want to take care of the babies?" I sighed. "I need to do some stuff as chief still right when I get there...after you are set up so, I can't sorry Gabby. It's why we need to leave early. My chief stuff starts at 8. I want to be there before 8 am so I can help as much as I can. But then, I have my morning meeting with everybody."

Gabby nodded and understood. "Listen Gabby, you know that I love being your husband and of course I want to help as much as I can. This is just so hard to say. I promise, if it's urgent...I will drop everything and help you guys. You are always my priority while I am at the firehouse. But when I am gone on a rescue/fire call...then you are staying there and need to wait for me to come back. Also, I am confiscating the car keys okay? Sorry but, that's non debatable. It's not that I don't trust you...it's just, I want to remove the temptation and possibility. You understand that right?" Gabby nodded and smiled as she went to kiss me softly. "I love you Matt and I understand. But listen, we don't have much time. So relax."

I nodded and agreed. "I want you to work on your paramedic skills okay? Whenever the ambo is there...just get reacquainted with it okay? I also asked Stella to come in. She's decided to end her maternity leave and join us on Ambo. Severide e-mailed me. So, it's her and she was going to put Stephen in daycare but...I said she can bring him in since we are pretty much always going to bring the kids in on shift from now on. However, I really want you to consider doing extra maternity leave. Gabby, you've had a lot happen in the past year. Stay out until Wally's 6 months." Gabby smiled and agreed with me. "That sounds great, but I am at the house."

I nodded and agreed. "Now listen, we need to hurry up before Matteo wakes up..." That's when I heard him run into our room. "Daddy. I want you to read to me before you leave!" I then sighed. "Matteo, daddy is in the shower. How about you go downstairs and grab a book?" Matteo agreed. "Okay." He then ran away and I laughed at Gabby. Kissing her quickly, I looked at her. "I am going to get out. I've already washed up. Just wash up and relax. I'll help him get ready to go." Gabby smiled and agreed. "Thanks." I then went to kiss her one last time before getting out so that I could get dress. "I'll take care of the babies, you do him" I nodded and agreed. "Of course." I smiled at her one last time before going to get dressed and go see Matteo.

"Oh and you tell him okay?" I smiled and agreed, ready to tell Matteo some news.
