The Next Morning - Matt's POV:
As I wake up to the sound of my watch alarm going off, I sigh considering I am currently in bed with Gabby naked in my arms. We decided to have a little bit of makeup sex last night while the kids slept in their rooms. Luckily Gabby's mom didn't complain about it (at least not yet) and the kids co-operated. Kissing the top of Gabby's head, I sighed as I went to rub her back. "Gabby, I need to get up. I already slept in a bit later than normal since I am going right to the academy. It's 7:30. So, I need to leave in 40 minutes to be on time. Please baby, wake up for me."

Gabby then looked up at me and nodded as she went to rub my chest. "I love you and I am so sorry for going off on you yesterday. I shouldn't have. This is what I signed up for being the chief's wife." I sighed and went to rub her arm. "I promise though, I am always going to be your husband and the kids' dad first. I am sorry that didn't happen yesterday. Well at least during the day. Not sure if me not putting you first really applies to the stuff I gave you last night." That's when I heard the door open. "Matt, you need breakfast before your meeting today?"

I then went to tug the covers up and got mad. "CAMILA!" Gabby then stared at her mom as she cuddled up to me. She then stared at us and got nervous. "Sorry." I then went to grab the back of Gabby's head and kissed her forehead. "Camila, go make breakfast if you want to." Gabby then looked at me. "I already woke up a little earlier and fed the kids. So they are fine. Mom, can you listen for them. You are giving me and Matt a bit of time since you disturbed us this morning." Camila nodded and agreed. "Sorry again." She then walked away while Gabby sighed.

Once the door was closed, Gabby leaned up to kiss me softly. "Sorry that happened." I nodded and understood. "It's okay Gabby. Just be glad it wasn't Matteo. Then we would've had to explain stuff he isn't old enough to know about yet." Gabby nodded and agreed with me as she put her head on my shoulder. I then smiled as I went to kiss it softly. "I have to get up and go shower? Care to join me?" Gabby smiled and nodded. "I will go start it. You get your clothes out so you can get dressed once we are done in there." I agreed and nodded as she got up.

Grabbing her bathrobe, Gabby smiled at me before walking around the bed. She then leaned over to kiss me softly and smiled. "I love you so much and I am so glad we took time last night to do that." I smiled and agreed with her. "Go start the shower. I will be right in." Gabby nodded and agreed as she walked away to our master ensuite. Meanwhile, I sat up and made sure to go text Hermann and Severide. 'Reminder, scouting today at the fire academy. I am joining because we moved Matteo's appointment up to yesterday.' Sending the same texted to both of them, I then sent Hermann another text independent of the reminder.

'Please make sure that Lee Henry is there on time. If it's not there on time...then it will look bad. I would rather not be accused of favoritism and bias on my first scouting.' Setting my phone down, I then went to stretch when Hermann and Severide texted me back. 'See you later.'

After reading the text, I finally got up and grabbed my towel from the hook on the edge of my bed. Walking away, I smiled when I walked away to go join Gabby in the washroom. Thinking she would already be in the shower, I was fully ready to take off my towel and just join her. However, instead...she was still wearing her robe and standing outside of the shower while staring at me. "Thought maybe you could take it off before we get in together." I nodded and smiled when she said that before going to grab her robe. Taking it off, I smiled as I held it in my hand.

Putting it on the hook, I watched as Gabby got into the shower ahead of me. Once she was in the shower, I took off my towel and then moved to join her in the shower. "God, this is exactly how I want to start my morning." Gabby laughed and smiled when I said that before turning around in my arms to face me. Putting her hands on my chest, she went to kiss me softly. "You know I really appreciate what you did. Getting the shots yesterday was a great idea." I smiled and agreed as I moved her closer to me by putting my hands on her hips. "No talking, just love now."

Gabby nodded and agreed as she kissed me softly while I grabbed some soap to start washing her. I then decided to put my hand on her neck so that our lips moved in sync. "I love you so much Gabby and I am so glad you are on my side." Gabby smiled and nodded. "Forever, I promise." I smiled and agreed as I moved to wrap my arms around her more. Feeling her hands on my chest, I just held her close to me while kissing her softly. "Can you still come by the firehouse with the kids today? I still want to see them like you promised about afterwards."

Gabby smiled and nodded. "I'll come for supper. You can help me feed to babies with some milk." I agreed and smiled, liking that idea. Gabby then put her hands on my face as she kissed me slowly. "Can you make sure you get a new paramedic outfit in a size or two bigger for me while you're at the academy today? I need at least a couple just in case." I nodded and agreed. "Of course. Can you text me and remind me?" Gabby smiled and agreed as she kissed me softly and just took her time with me in the shower. "I love you." I smiled and nodded. "Love you too."

Taking our time, I smiled as I just held Gabby in my arms and made sure to give her a bit of time alone with me this morning. "I am staying the night again just to let you know." Gabby nodded and understood. "If it's quiet today, can you maybe try to come home?" I bit my lip and thought about it. "I'll think about it Gabby. I just don't want to fall asleep here and wake up the entire house if I have to go to a fire in the middle of the night. Does that make sense." Gabby nodded and understood. "Then stay there. I understand."

I smiled as I went to kiss her again. "I promise, once you are back at work...we will have nights together in bed again." Gabby smiled and agreed as she went to kiss me. "Listen, enough talking. More kissing. I am going to miss you." I nodded and agreed. "I love you Gabby." Gabby nodded and smiled. "I love you too Matt." I then gave her one last kiss, making sure it lasted a while as I just took a bit of time with Gabby that morning.
