Chapter 93

Gabby's POV:
When Erin brought up whether we would ever consider possibly adopting or fostering another child, I was nervous because I wasn't even sure. I mean...I love helping kids and would love to maybe do it if we found the right kid. But, we already have 3 kids. Could we do 4 kids even if it's just temporary? I decided to let Matt take the lead on this question since he was the one who would really have to approve of us even taking this step. Looking at him, I listened to him speak. "Oh, we are done with kids. 3 is enough. I have no time for a 4th child. I mean, between our personal life, the 3 kids we have now and work...there would simply be no time for a 4th kid."

I then just looked at him and nodded. Matt then turned to look at me and looked into my eyes. He could tell that something was wrong and that I didn't feel the same way. "Gabby, are you really thinking about it? 4 kids! Babe, you heard what I said, don't tell me you don't think what I said isn't true?" I then sighed and looked at him. "It's in my DNA. You know how much I love helping kids. But, I know...it's not a good idea." Matt sighed and looked at me before going to grab my hand. Intertwining our fingers, he looked at me. "Gabby, if you want to help kids...we can go do stuff in Puerto Rico. Babe, I barely have time for our kids."

I nodded and agreed with him when he said that. "Right, I shouldn't have even thought about that. He's right...we have no time." Matt then went to kiss me and whispered to me. "You want to talk about it later?" I thought about it and felt Matt wrap his arm around my waist more. Kissing my head, Matt then whispered to me. "We'll talk about the logistics of it when we are in bed okay? Maybe we can sponsor a kid or something. That's probably as close as I am comfortable going for a while. At least until the kids are older. Right now, we have 3 kids under 2."

Smiling, I nodded in agreement with Matt. "Hey, think you can go make me a snack? You probably need something to eat after shift." Matt nodded and agreed as he went to get up. "You guys want to stay for supper?" Jay nodded and agreed. "Yeah, that sounds like fun." I smiled when he said that. "Then how about you boys go make supper in the kitchen. Us girls have the kids and Lucky for a while." Jay nodded and smiled as he went to get up. I then decided to walk over to Erin. Moving to sit next to her, I smiled. "So, how is the second pregnancy going?"

Erin then looked at me. "Okay, not yet missy. What the hell was that between you and Matt? Are you crazy in thinking you guys could do 4 kids!" I sighed and agreed. "I guess it was just a dream. But you are both right, it's not something we're doing." Matt then looked at me. "It's not just something we aren't doing. It's something we can't do Gabby." I then turned to look at him, confused. "What do you mean?" Matt then sighed. "I got snipped already remember? And I also no longer have any sperm in me. Can't even do surrogacy anymore."

I nodded and agreed. "Sorry I even thought about it. I don't know, just like the idea of a big family." Matt sighed when I said that. "Later okay? We are with friends." I nodded and agreed before going back to my conversation with Erin about her pregnancy.

Meanwhile in the kitchen - Jay's POV:
As I stood in Matt and Gabby's kitchen, I went to look at Matt. "Hey, you see where Antonio went?" That's when I heard him come downstairs. "I was in the washroom. What did I miss? And don't tell me nothing. I heard the yelling." Gabby sighed when he looked at her. "You okay sis? Do I need to talk to Matt?" Gabby shook her head. "It's okay Antonio." Antonio nodded and agreed before walking into the kitchen with us. Once he was away from Gabby's prying ears, he looked at Matt. "Spill Matt. You know that I am not going to stop until you do!"

Matt then sighed and looked at her. "Erin brought up fostering or adoption of another kid and Gabby actually considered it for a minute." Antonio then turned to look at her. "Gabby, are you crazy! I thought you wanted Matt to be chief at Firehouse 51." Gabby then sighed and nodded. "Listen, can you just stop bugging me about it? It was a stupid idea and I guess I am a fool of even dreaming of us having another kid. Heaven forbid a woman who loves her husband can't think about how much she likes having intimacy with him." Gabby then got up and walked away.

Turning to look at us both, Matt then sighed. "Guys, can you just start some spaghetti or something for supper? I am going to go talk to Gabby upstairs." Antonio nodded and agreed, going to rub his back. "She's probably still flustered about the Jesse stuff too." Matt agreed and nodded as he went to hug Antonio before going upstairs so that he could talk to Gabby.
