Chapter 108

Antonio's POV: After inviting Jay in, I was about to close the door when I heard someone else. "Delivery!" I then went to look outside when I saw our lunch was here. "Perfect timing. I was just about to close the door." I then went to grab my phone. "You have credit?" The delivery guy nodded and agreed as he went to get the machine. "That'll be $56.98" I looked at him, shocked. "I thought it was $48.98?" The delivery guy just looked at me. "$8 surcharge for delivery." I nodded and agreed with him. "Okay then, just put it on my credit card." He nodded and gave me the machine as I went to grab the food. "Thanks." Closing the door behind me as I carried the food in, I saw Diego walk over to me when he heard the door close. "I saw the delivery guy."

I nodded and agreed. "Can you help me with the bags then?" I then went to yell upstairs. "Eva, lunch is here!" Eva then came out of her room and downstairs. "Thanks dad." I agreed and went to look at Jay and Erin. "Hey, we got Chinese. You guys want some?" Erin then looked at me. "Do you mind? I mean...you guys did order it just for you, Sylvie, Matt and Gabby?" Matt then turned to look at her. "Yeah, because we are going to let the pregnant lady starve. By the way, where's Olivia?" Jay then looked at me as he came out of the washroom. "Just got her undressed and changed. Diaper in the garbage." I agreed and nodded. "Here, she can play with our kids."

Jay smiled and nodded as he carried Olivia to the living room before setting her down in the play pen with Ella and Theo. He then looked at Sylvie and smiled. "Sylvie, how you doing? Last month." Sylvie then nodded and agreed as she got up to hug him. "How far along are you now Erin?" Erin then smiled as she walked over and hugged Sylvie too. "I am 3 1/2 months. So, I just finished my first trimester a couple weeks ago." Gabby then laughed when she said that. "God, isn't the first trimester always the worse?" Erin nodded and agreed as she took off her shoes before walking over to her and hugging her. "How are you? You look amazing already."

Matt while when she said that. "She does, doesn't she?" Matt then wrapped his arm around Gabby and went to kiss her cheek softly. "I mean it. You look stunning Gabby." Gabby smiled as she turned to look at him. Stepping close to him and wrapping her arms around his waist, she then kissed him softly. "Am I making Matteo's plate or are you? Sorry guys but, I want to get him eating first if that's okay?" We all nodded when she said that. "Of course Gabby. That makes complete sense." Gabby nodded and agreed. "Oh. Jay and Erin. Don't you dare think of going before any of us. You weren't here when we agreed to order...you guys get to pick last!"

Erin then looked at her. "Even me? Pregnant lady?" Gabby then looked at Erin. "I never said you weren't picking before the boys. Erin. You just need to let me and Sylvie pick first since we are the ones who ordered it. Plus, I have a toddler to feed at the same time." Matt then looked at Gabby when she said that. "Gabby, I can take care of him if you want okay? You take care of Ella. She's going to be due..." That's when we heard her start to cry. Gabby then sighed and walked over to the fridge. "Matt, you know what I like. Can you make me a plate and bring it over to me?" Matt nodded and agreed. "Of course." Matt then went to grab a plate for her.

Making her plate, Matt looked at me. "And that's exactly why I want her to go first. I want her to be able to get what she wants. Gabby has been such a trouper...I just want what's best for her." I then turned to look at him and was confused. "She's always been a trouper. What's so special now?" Matt sighed and looked at me. "Antonio, she literally agreed for me to become chief after Boden died. She picked up her entire life and moved back here with me when she could've said she wanted to stay. She let me come back here and be chief of Firehouse 51. We both know that she loved volunteering. And so did I." I nodded and agreed as I put my hand on his shoulder.

Matt then came to hug me and smiled. "Thanks for coming back too. It makes me feel so much better that she has you here to talk to. I get worried sometimes. I mean sure, Gabby can always talk to me but...you have this relationship with her where she can just open up. Plus, she needed her best friend/sister-in-law here too." Matt then went to wrap his arm around Sylvie, hugging her before making his way to the living room to sit with Gabby and eat lunch. I then smiled at them as I looked at them and couldn't help but feel happy for my sister and Matt.

I then remembered that I was happy for Eva too. "By the way Jay and Erin...we just got some exciting news from Eva today. Maybe she can share it when she comes down for lunch." I then went to grab my phone to text her and her brother. 'Chinese in kitchen now.' I then went to put my phone back in my pocket before going to grab my plate. That's when Diego came upstairs from the basement. "Somebody say Chinese?" I laughed when he said that. "Go get changed into your Molly's uniform first. Oh and bring a shirt up for your sister. She needs to wear one."

Gabby then looked at me. "Antonio, she can get one at the bar when she goes in. We have some there for women. The men's shirts look horrible on women. I would know considering I had to wear them when I was pregnant." Matt then turned to look at her. "Had to or wanted to? Last time I checked, those men's Molly's shirts were mine." Diego then looked at us all. "So, am I getting her a shirt or not?" Gabby then shook her head. "Diego, just get changed into your uniform. And Eva, go put black jeans on without any ripped knees." Eva then looked at her and looked down at her jeans. "What's wrong with these jeans?"

Matt then turned to look at her. "Eva, let me remind you that wasn't your aunt asking you to do that. That was your boss telling you to do that." Eva then agreed and got scared, running upstairs to get changed. I then looked at both Matt and my sister. "Dang, you guys really scared her." Gabby smirked. "It's because she knows that I can fire her just as easy as I hired her. I don't care if she's my niece...I am not afraid to fire her if she disobeys my orders." I nodded and understood. "Okay, now enough work talk." Erin smiled and agreed when she finished getting her plate and walking over to the living room. "Family updates, how is everybody?"

Erin then sat down on the couch next to Olivia when Lucky walked over to her after being at Jay's side for a bit. She then went to lay down at her feet and Erin smiled as she bent down to rub her head. "Good girl." Looking up again, Erin turned her head to look at Gabby. "How's the post-birth recovery going Gabby?" Gabby smiled and nodded. "Let's just say that it's not done yet." I was confused when she said that. "Okay, then what is Matt doing working if your post-birth recovery isn't over?"

Gabby then turned to look at me. "Because it won't be over until I am fully recovered from my getting my tubes tied on March 2nd. And that will take a week." I nodded and agreed. "Okay that makes sense. And of course Matt can't not work until then." Matt nodded. "Yeah, I am taking a week after the surgery. That's all I can take though. If Eva can come over then...that would be great. Might work Molly's a bit to try and bring in some extra money for us since I am not working fire shifts. I mean yeah, I have a base salary but...I get more money when I am on the clock."

I agreed when he said that. "It's the same way at the police station. I think you also get a bonus every time you bring in a perp." Erin then looked at me when I said that. "Oh no, that's done. We changed it to you get a bonus every time you close a case. And double bonus if they are as complicated as that bomb one we did." I nodded and agreed with them. "God, I swear...I am glad to say that I am just starting to finish having those dreams. I mean, sure it happened to you guys but...being a new dad, I could only imagine what you guys went through."

Jay then shook his head. "Antonio, that's the half of it." Erin then went to grab his hand and rubbed it. "Antonio, you think that was hard? We are still dealing with it because it has become a PTSD event in itself. Jay still wakes up in the middle of the night. We are even thinking about moving. I am starting to think us living there is just too hard on Jay. Jay, what do you think about that?" Jay then turned to look at her and grabbed her hand, intertwining their fingers. "I think that's the right move. I booked July off and a week in May. Maybe we can do it that week?"

I was confused when he said that he was taking a week in May. "Why are you taking a week in May?" Jay then smiled. "I am making the nursery." Matt nodded and agreed. "If you want help, I can definitely give you guys a discount on my services?" We then all turned to look at him and spoke together. "Discount!" Matt then wrapped his arm around Gabby and looked at us all. "Uhm, last time I checked...we had 3 kids. Sorry if I want to find any opportunity to make a bit of extra cash anywhere I can."
