The First Look

Matt's POV: As I stood at the altar in the church, I smiled as I just thought about the fact that we were expecting another boy in January. The idea that my gorgeous wife carried both of our sons was just amazing considering the fact that we never expected to have biological kids unless we used a surrogate. Just looking at my wedding band, I smiled becuase I thought about what I was going to give Gabby. I made her another wedding ring that has our kids' birthstones on them. A Garnet Stone (January) for our son, Perridot (August) for Matteo and Sapphire (September) for Ella. I just hoped that she appreciated the effort that went into planning this ring.

That's when I heard Gabby behind me. "Wow, you are going to be sweating outside when we have supper later." I then turned to look at her. "Wow." I just stared at her and was shocked. "Wow." Gabby then laughed as she walked up to me. "That's all you can say?" I nodded as I went to wrap my arm around her waist and then leaned my forehead against hers. "This is so overdue." Gabby smiled and nodded when I said that. "What did you think about the letter I sent you?" I then laughed and went to rub her stomach. "I wasn't expecting it. I thought you wanted it to be a surprise." Gabby smiled and nodded. "It is a surprise. I mean, right..."

I nodded and agreed. "Gabby, everything during this pregnancy is a surprise for me. Remember, I have never walked through this with you. But being here with you and doing this is amazing." I then went to rub her stomach and smiled. "By the way, I told you that you look beautiful when you are wearing tight dresses around this baby bump of yours." Gabby then smiled when I said that. "Is it because it shows it off more?" I nodded. "Yeah, because we never had a baby bump in between us." Gabby smiled and then went to kiss me softly. "By the way, where's Matteo?" I then went to grab her neck. "I wanted to have you alone for a minute."

Gabby then went to grab my jacket and smiled at me. "First time we have been alone in a while." I agreed and smiled. "But don't worry, we will be alone tonight. Remember that nice hotel down the street?" Gabby nodded and smiled. "I got us the honeymoon suite for two nights." Gabby then put her hand on my cheek and smiled while kissing me softly. "You are just amazing. But listen, we need to get this started before I get tired. I know normally we take longer but...I don't want to take long. Hope that's ok..." I just went to kiss her and shut her up. "Hey, look at me. Just take a breath and relax. I want what's best for you and our son."

Gabby smiled when I said that. "I want to keep this here in Puerto Rico for a while okay? My mom knows and so does my brother. Just not Chicago yet. That way it feels like a secret somehow. I mean yes, I would've loved for it to just be in between us but...that's not really possible considering we are so close to my family." I smiled and agreed with her when I said that. "Listen, just relax and take a breath. Now, is Antonio going to walk you down the aisle or are we still doing it like we did at the hospital? We carry Matteo down the aisle?"

Gabby smiled at me. "I want it just to be me and you. Matteo can go up with one of our family members. I want to walk up the aisle with my husband as we renew our vows and just do it together." I smiled and agreed with her. "Then we can stay together for the rest of the day." Gabby nodded and smiled when I said that. "But listen, we also have to get that nice picture of us taken. So, who is taking it?" I smiled. "I talked to the charity and got our professional photographer who does our ads and stuff." Gabby smiled and agreed with me.

That's when he walked up to us. "Someone call for your photographer?" Turning to look at him, I smiled before going to shake his hand. "Thanks for coming James." We all nodded and smiled. "We just going to take some with us or are we going to take one with Matteo?" I then ndoded when Antonio walked out with him. "Yes, you are." Gabby then turned to look at Antonio and smiled. "You set this all up didn't you babe?" I nodded and smiled. "Today is our wedding day. And on our wedding day, I want you to be the least stressed as possible." 

Antonio then walked up to us and smiled as he gave me Matteo. "Gabby, may I just say that you look beautiful. And if you think I am not going to give her away at the end of the aisle...you are crazy. Matt, our families are here and they are going to expect it. They are very traditional remember?" Gabby then turned to look at me. "He's right Matt. Can we do it then?" I nodded and smiled at her. "Of course. I am just glad that I got baptized so that I can participate in the entire wedding. Eucharist and all." Gabby smiled when I said that. "Me too."

We then both stood close to one another. Wrapping my arm around her waist, James then spoke to us. "Oh, right there...that's great." Gabby smiled and agreed as I held my entire family close. "Oh, show off the bump." Gabby smiled as she put her hand on her stomach. I then turned my head and did one where we are kissing. I then went to whisper to her. "I love you so much and I can't wait to get this started." Gabby then smiled at me. "Antonio, can you talk to the priest and tell him that we are ready to start? I don't want to wait longer."

We all nodded and agreed as Antonio walked away to get the priest in position.
