Chapter 177

Matt's POV: After telling everybody the story of our vow renewal, I smiled because it was a great memory for me and Gabby. Turning my head to look at her, I went to grab her hand and smiled. "Best experience of my life." Gabby smiled and agreed with me when I said that. "Honestly guys, it was amazing. And no offence, it was even better than any of our weddings we've had here." I then turned to look at her. "Why would they find offence with that?" Gabby then sighed. "Because they weren't there Matt. That's the only wedding our friends haven't been to."

I nodded and understood before turning my head to look at Severide. "Don't even think about asking us if we are doing another vow renewal. Sorry Severide but, you missed your chance in being my best man for the rest of my life. For that, I am sorry." Severide laughed when I said that. "Dude, relax. Last time I checked, I did the same to you." I nodded and agreed with him. "Yeah, so we are totally equal when it comes to me not making you my best man. Anyways, Antonio really did help me a lot to get ready for that ceremony at the church."

Cruz then turned to look at me. "Oh yeah, about that. What inspired you to do your vows in Spanish?" I smiled at him and then looked at Gabby. "Some members of her family don't speak any english. So...instead of doing a translation from english to spanish, I just did my vows in Spanish." Gabby agreed. "And it also made them much more personal. For him to take the time to translate them properly and then learn how to say it...that was amazing." I then went to scratch the back of my neck. 'Antonio did the translation."

Gabby then turned to look at me and nodded. "That makes a lot more sense. There was no way the internet was that good. I remember hearing them and was shocked. It was so romantic and I cried like a baby part of it. Oh and don't even get me started on how amazing the party was. I promise though, we are going to have to do a wedding reception-style event here where we can all dance." I laughed when she said that. "What do you think we're doing for your birthday?" Gabby then stared at me. "What?" I then shook my head. "I'm kidding."

Gabby then understood. "Anyways, we are on shift on your birthday. However, I want to advise you all that we already booked vacation for the last week of August and first week of September. That is our 2nd wedding anniversary and Matteo's 2nd birthday." Everybody nodded and agreed. "Not that you even have to approve it with us." I laughed when Stella said that before agreeing with her. That's when I started to hear the bells go off. "Hey, at least they waited until I was done eating. I was then about to get up when I listened."

"Ambo 61. Cardiac arrest at 61st & Cermak." Noah then turned to look at Stella, shocked. "What are we doing going way out there?" Stella then ran out. "I don't care. Let's just get going." He agreed and then ran out. Meanwhile, I turned to make sure that Matteo didn't go anywhere. "Matteo, get away from the doors. You are not going out to the trucks again. You already sat in them today." Matteo nodded and then walked back over to us. He then went to get on the couch and looked at the TV when I saw it was on an innapropriate channel.

"Hey Mouch!" Mouch then turned to look at me. "What's up Chief?" I then sighed. "Can you please not watch MTV while Matteo is out here? I would rather he not have to look at Snooki's boobs while she dances with the Situation on the latest version of Jersey Shore. God, aren't they in their like 40s now?" Severide laughed and agreed with me. "Yeah, he is 40 next year." I nodded and agreed. Meanwhile, Gabby just looked at me. "How do you know much about Jersey Shore?" I then turned to look at her. "What? The girls are hot."

Gabby then glared at me. "Oh shut up. I watched it while we were divorced. So you don't get to say a word about it my dear wife." Gabby then nodded and agreed. "And you haven't watched it since?" I then looked at her with a 'c'mon babe face'. "Yeah, because I am going to watch MTV when we have babies and a toddler around the house. Gabby, there's an F-Bomb dropped on that channel at least every 15-20 minutes. I am not an idiot." Gabby nodded and agreed. "I never said you were an idiot. In fact, you are smart when it comes to vacations."

I smiled when she said that. "You want to tell them where I want to take you?" Gabby shook her head. "No, because I am thinking I want to go somewhere else this summer on our vacation." I was confused when she said that. "Where instead of that place I showed you on my laptop?" Gabby then smiled. "We can go to the one in New Jersey at the Meadowlands." I then stared at her. "Oh, that's a great idea. With your brother coming so that we can go to Manhatttan for a bit. Go to a nice dinner and hit a broadway show."

Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "I want to go see Come From Away. The story about 9/11 and all those planes that landed in Canada." I nodded and smiled. "You mean those **cough** annoying **cough** songs that you have on repeat when we are at home sometimes?" Gabby then looked at me. "Matt, may I remind you that you have to work on your birthday. That means that any action you want has to be within the next 48 hours. So watch that you say becuase last time I checked, I can always change your gift."

All the guys then made some noises. "Ohhh..." I thent urned to look at them. "Okay, that's it. I am done with just sitting around here. Everybody, out onto the floor. We are going to do some drills." They then all groaned when I said that. "Hey, you guys were the ones that commented on my sex life. I am your chief so, let's go. Get out of the hosue and let's get drilling. Stella, get the truck out. Severide, work on your crew." He then agreed while getting up. Meanwhile, I turned to look at Gabby. "Give me the kids and I will supervise them. You go work in the Ambo."

Gabby then nodded as she got up and she was about to walk over to me when Matteo ran away. "Matteo, where are you..." Matteo then ran towards the washroom. "Potty." I then agreed and smiled at Gabby. "I got it. I'll be right back." She nodded and agreed as I walked away to the washroom to help Matteo.
