Chapter 92

30 Minutes Later when Jay is back with Olivia:
Jay's POV:
After going to get Olivia at the daycare, I smiled when I made my way up to the door so that I could knock. I then went to check whether the door was unlocked and decided to just go in. "Hey guys, it's me with Olivia. Can I come in?" Matt then turned his head and looked at me. "Sure, can you lock the door when you are in?" I smiled and agreed when I went to kiss Olivia's head. Locking the door, I then went to take off my shoes and looked at Erin. "I have toys."

Erin looked at me, shocked. "I didn't leave her with toys at the daycare." I smiled when she said that. "I may have stopped at home for you." I then walked over to her with the bag and looked at her. "We both know we aren't heading back to work today. So, thought I would get you these." Giving her the bag of sweats I got for her while I was home, I smiled as I watched her look in the bag. Seeing it was my sweats and one of my sweaters, she smiled. "I love you so much."

I laughed and agreed as she got up. "Gabby, can I use your washroom to get changed? Jay brought me some sweats." Gabby nodded and agreed. "Go ahead. Believe me, Jay did the right thing. It's hard getting comfortable in jeans when you are pregnant. I would know considering I was just pregnant. And god, was I sweaty." I nodded and agreed as I walked over with Olivia and her toys when I saw Matteo on the ground. "Mind if they play together? I know there is an age gap but...it's not that big." Matt laughed and agreed. "Put her down and relax."

I smiled and nodded while going to put her in the play pen with Matteo. "Hey Matteo, how do you like being a big brother?" Matteo then turned to look at me and smiled. "I love my babies uncle Jay Jay." I then looked at Matt and Gabby, shocked. "Did he just call me uncle?" Gabby nodded and smiled. "Oh shut up, you basically are. We're one big family here we are together so often." I laughed and agreed with her. "Definitely. However, we are going to be loosing one family member soon. Will has decided to move with Natalie and the kids to Seattle."

Gabby smiled when I said that. "Good for him, that's what he should do anyways. If he didn't do it...I would be a bitch to him. I wouldn't stop telling him to leave until he did. He has a kid with her. Sorry but, that joins you at the hip for the rest of your life! Prime example, Matt. He had to learn in the hard way." Matt nodded and agreed when she said that before grabbing her hand. "And honestly, I loved Puerto Rico. We were going to stay until the news." Erin the looked at him. "What convinced you guys to come back and take the job anyways Matt?"

Matt sighed when Erin asked. "Boden put it in his will that he wanted me to take over Firehouse 51. It was hard and I really had to think about it. But at the end of the day, I just couldn't disrespect his last wishes. That would've haunted me. That and I told myself that I could always resign if it got too hard. But now, we really like it here. I didn't know how much I missed Chicago until we came back. I just haven't spoken to Gabby about it much." Gabby then turned to look at him. "Then how about you explain it to me? Were you faking it in Puerto Rico?"

Matt's POV:
When Gabby accused me of faking it in Puerto Rico, I was shocked. "Gabby, I was never faking it in Puerto Rico. You really think I wanted to force you to come back if it was bad for your health? You know how hard it was to get me to come back in the first place. Gabby, we both know that I want what's best for you. We were so happy in Puerto Rico and I wanted that so bad. I really did. It was a new life that I was enjoying. But, it was his final wishes. That was why we came back. I already told you that on my first day that was the only reason I came back."

Gabby then turned to look at me and nodded. "Sorry Matt, you're right." I nodded and agreed as I went to hold her close. Scratching her leg, I then went to kiss her head. "Can we move past this? I know it might be something we need to talk about but...I don't want to okay? We are here now and that's all that matters." Gabby nodded and agreed. "So Jay, have you talked to Will since he moved to Seattle?" Jay nodded and smiled. "Yeah, they just found a place and are going to be back next weekend to pack their place. She just had meetings at the hospital."

I nodded and agreed. "How is Owen taking the transition? And what about Will?" Jay sighed. "Will is still trying to find a job. Though I am positive that he will get to work at Grey Sloan Memorial too. I hope to go visit this fall on our leaves. We are taking paternity and maternity leaves together. So, I want to go to Seattle and introduce the new baby to Will and Natalie there in Seattle. Just need to convince Erin that's a good idea." Erin smiled and nodded. "Jay, I am on board. However, we also need to go to New York in September. I want to do 9/11 there again."

Turning to look at her, Jay nodded and agreed. "Can't believe it's already been 20 years and 5 months next week. It's crazy that it's already been that long." I nodded and agreed with him. "Someday I want to go to New York with the kids. I want to show Gabby the memorial and show her what I saw the week before our first wedding when I went there with Boden." Erin then looked at me. "How did you convince her to let you go anyways?" I laughed when she said that. "May I remind you that...with the exception of our vow renewal, none of our weddings were planned. We did it at the courthouse when we tried to adopt Louie."

Erin nodded and agreed. "Do you guys ever see yourselves trying to foster or adopt another kid again?"
