Chapter 42

Matt's POV: After taking Gabby's bra off for her, I smiled as I saw her lay down in bed facing me. I then smirked as I got in with her, bringing her close to me chest so that I could hold her body against me. "You have no idea how attractive I find it that you are not wearing a bra in bed." Gabby laughed and smiled when I said that when she felt me tug the covers up. Moving her legs in between mine, she then went to grab my neck while tugging my lips against hers. She then kissed me softly as we held each other in bed. "I swear, you being a chief has made me so much more attracted to you." I laughed and smiled at her. "You sure it's not just the fact that I am not home as much as I used to be when we first had Wally or even when we had Matteo?"

Gabby smiled as she kissed me softly. "Maybe that's it. Me missing my amazing husband." I smiled when she said that before moving my hand to her leg. Taking it slow with her, I made sure to stay quiet because I didn't want to wake up the kids if we didn't have to. That's when I decided to pull my lips away from hers before going to kiss her neck a bit. Moving my hand to her side, I just held her against me while we gave each other a bit of pleasure. "I am so glad we took tonight Gabby. We needed it. Just the two of us. Me as your husband." Gabby smiled and nodded as she kissed me softly. "Yeah, it was a night well spent doing exactly what we needed to do. Just be alone together and concentrate on what matters."

I smiled when she said that and agreed as I went to rub her arm when she laid her head down on my arm. I then tugged the covers up as we just held each other close in bed. Grabbing her hand and moving to intertwine our fingers, I smiled as I moved to kiss her hand. "I think we need to make that a routine okay? At least once every 2 weeks or monthly at the least. I want to remind you that you are my priority in life always." I then turned to look at Gabby. "You and the kids are my world and nothing will ever change that." Gabby smiled when I said that and nodded. "I know that Matt, you don't need to keep reminding me. I promise, I will never forget." I smiled and agreed with her before kissing her softly.

"Matt, something is bothering you. I can tell. What's wrong baby?" I sighed and just went to look at the babies. "What if I work too much and then don't know me? And then what if something happens? I mean, I know I shouldn't think that way but...." Gabby then went to turn my head while I was looking at the kids. "Matt, look at me. You are not going anywhere. I don't care what you think. We've made it back to each other too many times for the universe to be so cruel to take you away from me...from the kids when we just got everything we wanted in life." Gabby then went to rub her hand down my chest. "I want you to say that to me and I want you to believe that baby. Be positive or else I'll get worried."

I laughed when she said that. "You are going to be worried no matter what." Gabby nodded and smiled at me. "Hell yeah. Now quick question, are you going to do the scouting tomorrow? I know you said that you wanted Hermann to go but, we both know you want to go." I shook my head. "No, I am not leaving here tomorrow. Tomorrow, I am not leaving my gorgeous wife or our kids." I smiled when he said that. "Then I want breakfast in bed tomorrow." I nodded and agreed with her. "And I want a shower with my beautiful wife in the morning. Is that possible?" Gabby shook her head. "Depends, you want Matteo to disturb us and join us?"

I shook my head when she said that. "The day after, before the pediatrician appointment." Gabby nodded and agreed with me. "Listen, can we head to bed? We are going to need to wake up soon but, I don't care. I would rather sleep a bit." I agreed and nodded, kissing her softly. "I love you Gabby. See you in an hour." Gabby laughed and agreed before rolling over in bed. Meanwhile, I rolled over to shut off the lights. I then went to roll back over in bed when I heard Matteo start to come into our room. "Mama, papa, you forgot to come say goodnight." We then both rolled over and nodded. I then looked at Gabby and went to grab her bra for her. "Put this on."

Gabby then nodded, sitting up as she went to put on her bra. I then got up and smiled as I went to grab Matteo from the door. "Here, I have a better idea buddy. How about you sleep with us in bed tonight? Family sleep over?" Matteo when nodded as he wrapped his arms around me. Kissing his head, I smiled as I went to get in bed. Laying him down next to Gabby. I smiled as she laid down next to me while Matteo was next to her and facing us. Tugging the covers up, I then went to grab his hand. "I love you Matteo, night buddy." Matteo the nodded as he grabbed his blankie he brought along with him falling asleep.

Meanwhile, Gabby rolled over to face me and cuddled up to me while putting her hand on my chest. She then slipped her legs in between mine and looked up at me. "Now this is exactly what I want when you are home." I laughed and smiled as I tugged the covers up before going to kiss her softly. Putting my hand on her back, I just took it slow with her before we eventually fell asleep in each other arms that night.
