Matt's POV: After bringing Ella and Wally upstairs to Gabby, I made my way downstairs with Matteo so we could hang out with everybody. That's when I saw something in the corner of the hall that I was not impressed about. "JAY!" Jay then got scared and got up before walking over to me. "Everything okay Matt?" I then pointed to the ground. "You promised she was trained to go outside." Jay then stared at it when he felt Lucky walk up to him. Sitting next to him on the ground, he then looked down at her. "You are a real bitch sometimes girl."
I nodded and looked at him. "There's cleaning stuff in the closet by the door. You are cleaning it." Jay then nodded and agreed as he walked away. Meanwhile, I made my way into the kitchen to see that Antonio was cooking. "What you doing Antonio?" Antonio then turned to look at me and smiled. "You are stressed, I am not making you cook." I smiled when he said that and nodded as I went to rub his back. "Mind if I grab a beer or is it too hard for you to watch people drink?" Antonio then smiled. "Go ahead, I am sober now." I agreed and smiled.
"By the way, not too spicy. What are you making anyways?" Antonio smiled as he turned to look at me. "Bacon mac & cheese casserole." I smiled when he said that. "That sounds delicious. Think Matteo would like it." Antonio nodded and smiled. "He'll love it. It's delicious. Now go sit down and finish that beer before Gabby sees you with it." That's when Erin looked at me. "Uhm Matt, may I remind you that Gabby is breastfeeding and can't drink. I am not sure you drinking a beer in front of either Antonio or Gabby is the best idea. Or me for that matter, pregnant."
That's when Jay came back after cleaning up Lucky's mess. "Oh give him a break Erin, he's Chief at a firehouse and has to make life or death decisions on an hourly basis." I nodded and agreed as I walked over to the couch. Opening my beer, I smiled at Jay. "You are still sober right? I mean, Erin is pregnant." Jay nodded and agreed as he went to sit down next to her, wrapping his arm around her. "Hey, so did we talk about Will and Natalie yet? When are they leaving?" Jay then smiled. "Next week I think. They still have to sell their place."
I nodded and agreed. "Just wish they could stay in town until Gabby's surgery. Then Natalie could help with it." Jay was confused when I said surgery. "Surgery?" I then looked at him. "March 2nd, Tubes Tied." Antonio then looked at me. "Want me to take that day off so you can concentrate on Gabby?" I then thought about it and nodded. "Either that or your mom could come. I already booked that week off." Antonio nodded and agreed. "Sure thing, I'll do it. How long after the surgery is she going back to work? Like officially."
I smiled when he asked. "She's back July 10th for 7 weeks. Then we have a 2 week vacation booked from August 26th to September 5th." Antonio was confused. "What's with the 2 week vacation then?" I smiled when he asked. "2nd anniversary and Matteo's 2nd birthday." That's when Matteo walked over to me. "Papa, can you read to me?" I smiled when he asked. "How about you ask your uncle Antonio? Daddy already did a lot of reading today at work." Matteo then looked at me with those eyes that I just can't resist. "God, you are lucky you are cute."
Matteo then came to climb into my lap. Grabbing a blanket, I went to put my feet up on the sectional when I felt Matteo cuddle up to me. I then went to look at what book he chose before starting to read to him. Antonio then smiled at me. "You are a sucker for him aren't you?" I nodded and smiled as I tried to get Matteo to read a bit and he did. It was so nice to see how smart my little guy was. Kissing his head as I read to him, I smiled when I went to grab a drink of my beer. Matteo then just cuddled up to me more as we continued to read together.
