It is now a little while later, and Kara and Lena are just putting their daughters to bed, after having a nice evening together. During this evening, Kara and Lena made sure to pay a lot of attention to Morgan, just to make sure that the 4-year-old, once more, knows that she is loved and wanted, and truly a part of their family. The fact is, even though Kara and Lena don't think they have been neglecting Morgan, or doing anything to suggest they don't want her, both parents have felt guilty that Morgan ever felt that way in the first place. So, this has meant that they have both been going a bit overboard just to show Morgan that she isn't going to be replaced by this new baby or anything.
Presently, Kara is putting Alura to bed right now, while Lena is in with Morgan. This is Kara and Lena's typical night-time routine. Every night one of them will put one of their daughters to bed, then they will swap over, and go into the other room to say goodnight to their other daughter, while swapping who puts who to bed on alternating nights. Of course, moving forward, after Lena has their future baby, Kara and Lena know that this system really isn't going to work anymore. But that is a problem for another day.
"Mommy, why was Morgan upset earlier?" Alura asks Kara, after not asking it for the last few hours, ever since Morgan came down for dinner with Kara and Lena.
Kara knows that Alura hasn't asked simply because she is emotionally mature enough, despite being 6-years-old, to be aware that she shouldn't ask that question in front of her sister, as it might upset her. In this regard, Kara is very proud of her daughter.
"She was upset, because after we told you both that momma and I are going to have a baby, she thought that we wouldn't want her anymore. She thought that seeing as you are related to me, and this baby is going to be related to me and momma, while she isn't related to any of us, that we wouldn't want her anymore, as we'd have a baby." Kara explains, "However, we told Morgan that that is silly, and the furthest thing from the truth."
"Good." Alura says, with a nod of her head, "Because it is silly. Morgan is my sister. And if you and momma didn't want her anymore, then I wouldn't want either of you. I'd run away with Morgan."
Kara can't help but feel touched by what Alura has just said, so happy to see how much Alura loves her sister.
"Well, it's a good thing that that's not going to happen then." Kara says, "As we love both you and Morgan, and having this new baby is not going to change that. We love you both so much. And I just want you to be sure that despite the fact that we will be having this baby, it doesn't change anything for us. We still are going to love you just as much. And we are still going to want to do all the things with you, and be a family together. We will just be adding another member to our family, like we did when we found Morgan."
"I know." Alura says, in a cute voice, "And I'm looking forward to having a baby brother or sister."
Kara chuckles upon hearing that.
"You're probably going to be less thrilled when they start crying all the time, sometimes for no reason at all. Or when they do something like poop their pants and smell, or throw up on you." Kara says, with a smirk.
"Ewww gross." Alura says.Kara chuckles once more.
"You did the exact same thing to me when you were a baby." Kara says, "In fact, one time aunt Alex was changing your diaper, and it was in that moment that you decided to poop yourself, getting it all over aunt Alex. You then threw up over her a few hours later."
"No, I didn't!" Alura protests.
"You did." Kara smiles, and then reaches down to press a kiss on the top of her oldest daughter's head, "But we still love you none the less. Just like I know you'll love your new brother or sister, even if they do do some gross baby stuff sometimes."
