A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 376 - Morgan's Birthday Plans

Kara, Lena, Lillian, Morgan and Alura have all arrived at The Tower now, with Alura and Elizabeth staying back at Lena and Kara's home again to look after Lori for the day. Since arriving, Lena and Lillian have both gone off into the labs to find Eliza and Alex, so that they can start working on the gold kryptonite, with Lena also planning just to check again on Reign, even though they would have been sent alerts if they suddenly lost the single or she was quickly on the move or something. This has therefore left Kara in charge of the girls, just as planned, with the blonde taking her daughters into the living room area of The Tower, where they are soon joined by Ruby, who happily greets them all.

"Okay, girls, today I actually have something planned to talk about." Kara says, "More specifically, this is something I want to talk to you about, Morgan."

"What is it, mommy?" Morgan asks, with an innocent look on her face.

"Well, it's actually your 5th birthday in a few days time, so on your birthday we are obviously going to celebrate it, but momma and I were wondering if there was something special you would like to do on your birthday?" Kara asks, "Or, I guess it doesn't even have to be something special. If there is anything specifically you'd like to do on your birthday, we can try and arrange that now, and figure it all out?"

"Oh, okay." Morgan nods, with a smile.

"Oh! I know what we should do!" Alura says, excitedly.

"Alura, it's Morgan's birthday." Kara says, "I think we need to let her decide on her own. Let her think about it for now. If she doesn't come up with some ideas over these next few hours, then you can talk to her about your own ideas. Okay?"

"Yes. Okay, mommy." Alura nods.

"Good, girl." Kara smiles.

"Mommy?" Morgan asks.

"Yes, baby?" Kara replies.

"On my birthday..... do I get presents?" Morgan asks.

"Of course you do!" Kara exclaims, "You will get a lot of different presents, from a bunch of different people. We'll also likely get you a birthday cake, where you can have candles on and then you can blow out your candles and make a wish, after we sing happy birthday to you, which is an earth human tradition of course. But what type of cake you want is also something that is up to you. Anything you want, baby. It's your birthday. Your choice."

"Okay." Morgan smiles, happily.

"Anyway, you don't have to come up with what you want to do on your birthday right away, Morgan. You can spend today thinking about it. And like I said, if you can't think of anything, Alura can help you, and so can me, and momma, and I bet Ruby has some good ideas too, right Ruby?" Kara says, with a smile.

"Yes. I can help, Morgan, if you need it." Ruby smiles.

"Okay. Thank you." Morgan says, and then gives Ruby a little hug, which the teenager is all but happy to accept.

Seeing this sight puts a smile on Kara's face, because she thinks about how it is nice to see Ruby and Morgan getting along really well, and just being loving cousins, as Kara remembers that when she and Lena first brought Morgan into their family, there was a little bit of jealousy felt by Ruby, as Morgan was taking up all of Alura's attention. So, it's just nice to see that they are all past that, and being loving cousins to each other.

Meanwhile in the lab, Lena, Eliza, Lillian and Alex are all working on trying to figure out how to make gold kryptonite. Of course, the entire time the group is actually in the lab, Lillian, Eliza and Lena are all carefully watching Alex, being a bit on edge that Alex will push herself to hard, and end up hurting herself or something. However, thus far, Alex has been good, remaining sitting most of the time, and presently just sitting at the computer, going over various forms of data that they have about the different constructions of kryptonite. Meanwhile, Lena has been taking a more close look at the harun-el, to see if she can figure out anything more about the structure of it, while Lillian and Eliza have been running tests on normal kryptonite, kept well aware from Lena, of course.
