A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 329 - Lazarus Pit History

Lena and Kara have now found Alex, Nia, J'onn, Lillian and Alura, all gathered in one of the DEO sleeping quarters. If this weren't such a sad situation, Lena and Kara would both find it interesting that this is the same sleeping quarters where they slept together for the first time, the same place where they shared a bed for the first time, even if it was accidentally. This is the room which truly helped forge Kara and Lena's relationship, and all the love they share, and their children. So, that just makes it all the more sad that this is the room where everyone has gathered to grieve with Alex, and help the redhead with this emotional devastation. Right now, Alex is being comforted by Nia, who is hugging her, while J'onn is speaking softly to her. This means that Alex doesn't even notice Kara and Lena enter the room. The only people who do actually notice are Alura and Lillian, who are not close in Alex's proximity right now. Upon Alura seeing Kara, standing, walking into the room, even with Lena tightly held to her side, causes Alura to grow a relieved look on her face. It's clear that even though Alura has taken it upon herself to look after Alex, for Kara's sake, she was still incredibly worried about her daughter's condition after being knocked out by Reign like that.

Alura and Lillian both come walking over to Kara and Lena, and away from Alex and everyone else. There are sober looks on the two mother's faces, which is very understandable given the situation.

"Kara, how are you?" Alura asks, as she takes her daughter in for a hug.

"I'm.... doing okay.... better than Alex, I imagine." Kara says.

"Yeah. That's probably true." Alura replies with a sad look on her face.

"How about you, Lena?" Lillian asks, "How are you doing with everything? I know you and Sam were close."

Lena lets out a deep sigh at Lillian asking her that.

"I'm.... very upset over everything." Lena says, "It didn't make it easier that I had to tell Kara what happened, about Sam, as due to her being knocked out she doesn't remember."

"Oh." Lillian says, with a sympathetic look on her face, "I'm sorry, come here."

Lillian now takes Lena in for a hug, which Lena very much accepts, with some more tears flowing down her cheeks. Lena continues to hug Lillian, with Kara hugging Alura, for the next several minutes. Eventually both Kara and Lena part from their hugs from their mothers.

In this moment, Kara starts to get a guilty thought in her brain, as she feels that all of this is unfair on Alex. Alex has lost her wife, meanwhile, Kara has just gained so much recently, including Alura, her birth mother, being alive. It truly doesn't seem fair, and Kara just hopes that Alex isn't upset that things are going well for her, while the opposite for Alex.

Kara now takes a deep breath, and begins to walk over to Alex, with Lena following Kara closely behind. Soon enough, Kara reaches Alex, with Nia and J'onn now moving away from Alex, and allowing Kara to slide in, and hug Alex tightly.

"I'm here, Alex." Kara says.

Alex simply sobs, and holds Kara tightly, burying her face into Kara's shoulder.

Kara continues to hug Alex like this for the next several minutes, with Alex continuing to cry. Eventually Kara does turn and look at Lena, gesturing for her to join the hug too, which Lena soon does. Lena, Kara and Alex hug, with their foreheads pressed together, with all three women crying, to differing degrees. Each of the three women know they can get comfort from each other. Everyone else looks on at this sight of Alex, Lena and Kara, and if this weren't such a sad moment, this would be a beautiful sight between sisters. Unfortunately, it's not, just a horribly sad one.

"We love you, Alex, and we will be here for you, for anything you, or Ruby need." Lena says, in a soft voice.

"RUBY!" Alex now says, with a loud croak/sob, having not even thought about the fact, until this point, that she is going to have to tell Ruby that Sam is actually permanently dead and everything, "Oh god."
