Kara and Ruby now land in the DEO, and as soon as they do, Ruby goes running in the direction of the medical bay, clearly so desperately wanting to see her mom, and thinking that is where she thinks she will be. It takes Kara a few moments to realise where Ruby is running off to, and she isn't able to catch up to the teenager until she is in the medical bay herself, and able to see that her mom is nowhere in sight, which causes the teenager to grow a very sad look on her face. Obviously upset at the thought that maybe her mom isn't alive after all.
"Ruby, your mom isn't in here. She's in the surgery room." Kara soon says, "Let me show you."
"Where's that?" Ruby asks.
"Follow me." Kara says.
Kara now takes Ruby's hand and begins to lead her through the DEO. As the duo walk through the DEO a few of the agents look on at Kara and Ruby, and grow slightly happy looks on their faces. The news has now spread through the DEO about Sam actually being alive, so all of the DEO agents with a heart are just reacting because they are happy for Ruby. They know Ruby is about to be reunited with her mom, alive, for the first time in well over a month.
Eventually, Kara and Ruby arrive outside the surgery room, where they see Lena standing outside, talking with Alura.
"Aunt Lena? Is it true?" Ruby asks, in a desperate voice, "Is my mom really alive?"
"Why don't you go in and see?" Lena says, with a smile, and now opens the door to the surgery room.
Ruby now steps inside the surgery room, all the while still holding onto Kara's hand. In fact, as Ruby first walks inside the surgery room itself, the teenager clenches Kara's hand even tightly, obviously afraid as to what she now might see. Kara doesn't mind though. In Kara's mind Ruby can clench her hand however hard she likes, she can take it.
Now inside the surgery room, Kara and Ruby see the sight of Alex leaning over something, lying on a gurney. Right now Sam's face is completely obscured by Alex's body, so Ruby can't see what is happening, or the fact that Sam is laying there, alive.
"M.... mom?" Ruby calls out, in a very emotional voice.
Alex now turns around and looks at Ruby, removing her body from over Sam's body. In the process of Alex doing this, Sam's face is revealed, which turns and looks at Ruby, growing a wide smile on her face.
"Ruby." Sam says, with a loving smile on her face.
"MOM!" Ruby exclaims, and now finally lets go of Kara's hand and goes running over towards Sam.
As soon as Ruby arrives at Sam's side, Alex allows her daughter to get on the chair she was sitting on, so that she can properly take Sam in for a hug. In the process of this happening, Ruby just bursts out into tears, all while she hugs her birth mom. Alex and Sam start to cry too, with this being a very emotional moment for the family. Even Kara and Lena grow some tears in their eyes at seeing this sight, with Lena soon walking up to Kara's side, and taking one of her wife's hands into her own.
"Come on, darling." Lena says, after a few moments, "I think they deserve some alone time."
Kara nods her head at Lena saying this, and the duo soon leave the surgery room, giving the family their time to reunite alone, without anyone else watching.
After this, over the next couple of hours, a few other people go in to say hello to Sam, and welcome her back to the land of the living. The entire time, neither Alex or Ruby leave Sam's side. Eventually, after these couple of hours are up though, it is decided, amongst both Lena, Alex and Lillian, that Sam should not go straight home, and should stay under some yellow sun lamps a little longer. However, none of them feel the need to actually keep Sam in the DEO, with them being aware that Sam can receive just as good of treatment at The Tower, rather than at the DEO. Then, at the same time, the group know that Alex, Sam and Ruby will all just be a little more comfortable at The Tower, because there are proper living quarters there, as they know that neither Alex or Ruby are going to want to leave Sam's side for a long time to come. Therefore, the decision is made to just transport Sam to The Tower, and for the CFO to recuperate there for the next few days, until Lillian, Lena and Alex deem Sam to be well enough to return home. Of course, even though Sam will be at The Tower, she will still need to be monitored, and therefore still have someone nearby who has a sort of medical knowledge of what is happening in her body, who isn't Alex, who is just too close to ethically medically treat Sam right now. Lena, of course, is the obvious choice to do exactly this, but thankfully for Lena, Lillian offers to stay at The Tower with Ruby, Alex and Sam, watching over Sam the whole time, which will allow Lena to head home and be with her children. Lena knows just how exhausted her daughter must be, and just how much she must miss her children, so she is more than happy to do this for her. So, this is what is decided.
