A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 319 Harun-El Tests

Lena and Alura landed on Earth a little while ago, and have now quickly rushed to The Tower, along with the Harun-el, just so Lena can study it as quick as possible, and try and figure something out to help save Sam. At the same time that Lena and Alura have been making their way to The Tower, Lena has had an update from Winn, explaining that Kara is fighting Reign at the moment, but for now, it's really not much of a fight. Winn, for his part, has been keeping out of the room where the fight is happening, not that he could even get inside as Kara has sealed the door shut with her heat vision, but Winn has been able to watch the fight from some camera feeds installed in the room. From what Winn has been able to see, Reign really is not at full strength at the moment, so essentially Kara is just constantly knocking Reign down, simply trying to slow her, and keep her in the room, rather than brutally attack her or anything. Upon hearing this, Lena is pretty glad about it, because she at least knows that Kara is not in much danger at the moment. However, at the same time, it does make Lena a little bit anxious, because she knows that really she is truly on the clock now, as even if Kara keeps fighting Reign like that, over time Reign will soak up more and more light from the room, and slowly gain more and more of her powers, until eventually Kara has to fight her properly.

Lena and Alura soon arrive at The Tower, along with the box containing the Harun-El, and as they enter, they are greeted by Lillian. Lena already knows that Lillian is at The Tower, taking care of Alex, after how Alex was badly beaten in her fight with Reign. Obviously, Lena would very much like to go see her sister through marriage, although as far as Lena is concerned, Alex is just her sister, but she can't, as she knows that will cut her time that she will have to study the harun-el, and Alex would much rather her do that, than spend time checking her over, and making sure she is okay.

"Hello, Lena." Lillian smiles, but then grows a strange look on her face as she looks at Alura, "Who.... who are you?"

"Oh uhh hi, mother." Lena replies, a bit awkwardly, "We don't really have time for this..... but.... this is Alura.... Kara's..... mom..."

Lillian's eyes widen at Lena saying this, clearly very much not expecting that."

"Oh...." Lillian says.

"Alura, this is my adopted mother, Lillian Luthor." Lena says, turning to look at Alura.

"A pleasure to meet you, Lillian, of the house of Luthor." Alura says, with a polite smile.

"I uhh.... thank you...." Lillian says, still clearly a bit stunned.

"Anyway, I would talk more, but we really need to start looking at this harun-el." Lena says, "Kara is holding Reign in place at the moment, but it will only be a matter of time until Reign slowly gets more and more of her powers back, and then becomes a problem. So, the quicker we can find a solution, then better."

"Yes, of course." Lillian nods, "I.... I am supposed to be watching Alex at the moment, though."

Lena now turns to look at Alura.

"Alura, would you mind just watching over Alex, while my mother and I study this harun-el. I think I need her help to make this go quicker." Lena says, "Alex is Kara's sister."

"Oh! Of course I will!" Alura says, with wide eyes, upon hearing that Alex is Kara's adoptive sister, "After all, it sounds like Alex has watched over my Kara for many years, it's only fair I return the favour."

"Thank you." Lena smiles, "We'll show you where she is."

"Yes, please, follow us." Lillian says.

Lena and Lillian then guide Alura through The Tower, where they soon show Alura into the medical bay room where Alex is currently laying, hooked up to a monitor, attached to a drip, and unconscious at the moment. Right now, Alex does look very battered and bruised, but Lena knows Alex is one tough cookie, and will pull through this. Lillian and Lena don't stop in the medical bay for long, and soon show Alura where the lab is that they will be working in, so Alura can come get them if anything goes wrong with Alex. Then, once Lena and Lillian are sure that Alura has everything, they leave her to it, and make their way over to the lab, along with the box containing the harun-el.
