A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 254 - Reign Teleported

It is now the following day, and today Lena has Morgan with her for the day, instead of Morgan staying with Lillian and Elizabeth at The Tower. Lena does know that Elizabeth and Lillian would likely not mind having Morgan and Alura with them every day of the week, but Lena and Kara really don't want to take advantage of the two grandparents. Plus, today Morgan and Alura are actually going to be apart from one another for the first time in a long while, so Kara and Lena thought it would be good if one of them is with Morgan throughout this day, just in case their youngest daughter gets emotional. Ultimately, Lena is the one that Morgan is spending the day with because today Kara is actually going to be interviewing a few people for her next article, along with Nia, and Kara didn't think that would be an ideal environment to bring Morgan into, and Lena agreed. So today Morgan is just going to be sitting in Lena's office with her, with Lena hoping that Morgan will be occupied by a few films she has put onto a tablet, as well as some colouring that she will let Morgan do. As for Alura, this morning Kara dropped Alura off for a play date with a friend she made at the park the other week. Alura is going to be spending all day with her new friend, and Kara will go pick her up later this afternoon.

Presently, little does Lena know, but she and Morgan are walking into one of the most dangerous places in the entire world for them right now, the CFO of L-Corp's office, Samantha Arias' office, or, in reality, Reign's office.

"Hello Vanessa." Lena says to Sam's assistant with a smile on her face, as she walks into the office with Morgan, hand in hand.

"Miss Luthor." Fake Vanessa says, standing up, "I didn't know you had an appointment with Miss Arias."

"I don't." Lena says, "So I'll just make it quick. I just need to have her look at a few documents for me. It will only take a few minutes. Is that okay?"

"Uhhh.... yes. Miss Arias is in her office right now." Fake Vanessa says.

"Thank you." Lena nods, with a smile, "Do you mind keeping an eye on Morgan for me? She will just be sitting out here while I'm in there for a few minutes?"

"Of.... Of course." Fake Vanessa says, as she looks at Morgan, with looking at her making her feel something that she can't quite explain.

"Thank you." Lena smiles, before turning to look at Morgan, "Will you be okay out here, waiting for me? I'm just going to be 2 minutes."

Morgan grows an unsure look on her face at Lena saying that.

"You can do your colouring while you wait." Lena says, gesturing to the colouring book Morgan has in one hand, and colouring pencils in the other, "By the time you have coloured in one picture, I'll be back out, then we can go up to my office. How does that sound?"

"Okay. Don't be long, momma." Morgan says.

"I won't darling." Lena smiles.

Upon hearing this girl called Morgan refer to Lena as momma, fake Vanessa has a confused feeling growing inside her chest. A feeling that makes her feel like it's wrong for Morgan to be calling this other woman her mom.

Lena then proceeds to get Morgan settled on the couch facing fake Vanessa's desk, with her opening the colouring book for the 4-year-old, before heading into Sam, or Reign's office.

Once fake Vanessa is alone with Morgan, who isn't even looking at her, she tries to just focus on her work, keeping up the lie that she is Samantha Arias' assistant Vanessa, even though she has not only morphed her body to look like this, but also gained real Vanessa's memories. However, fake Vanessa cannot help but continue to look at this young girl, who just seems happy to get on with her colouring. Fake Vanessa feels like there is something there, with this child, that she is missing. Vanessa just continues to keep looking at Morgan for the next few minutes, with her eventually being interrupted by Lena coming out of Sam's office.
