A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 341 - Reign Desert

In the middle of a desert, somewhere miles away from National City, the sun is rising in the sky, and the heat of the day can already be felt. There is really nothing to be seen for miles and miles around, no civilisation, no roads leading through the desert, nothing to show any evidence that mankind has ever stepped foot in these parts. All that can be seen for miles around, is sand, and rocks, cactuses, and other dry looking desert plants which you find in deserts in America. There may be some animals around, that live in these parts, but they are not noticeable. One thing that is noticeable, at least to anyone who ever steps foot in this area, is a pretty large crater in the middle of this desert, about 15 metres in diameter. Then, in the very centre of this crater is one of the most dangerous things on this planet, the world killer, Reign. This crater may be pretty large, and noticeable, but it's unlikely anyone is going to come across it anytime soon, just because of how deserted this land is. That is one of the reasons why for the last few days, no one has come across Reign's body.

After Reign regained her powers, which seemed to be enhanced after the harun-el exposure, and attacked Supergirl, she broke free of the DEO, shooting up into the air. Right away Reign's plan was to just punish ever human for the crimes they committed against her, locking her up, as from how Reign sees things, every human should pay for things that only a few humans and aliens have done to her. However, before Reign could go on the attack, the world killer got this overwhelming feeling in her body. Due to this, Reign flew higher and higher, up into the sky and suddenly let out this scream as heat vision uncontrollably shot out of Reign's eyes, the world killer screaming the entire time as it happened. This lasted for a good minute, with the heat vision finally shutting off and Reign holding her hands against her face, feeling a bit drained, and clouded in her mind. Moments after this, as Reign just floated in the air, she started to feel herself float closer back down towards the ground. That is when Reign realised that her flight was starting to cut out. Upon realising this, Reign attempted to fly both down and forward, not wanting her flight to cut out in a populated area where Supergirl and her friends, or Leviathan, could capture her again. This eventually led to Reign's flight completely cutting out over the desert, unexpectedly, as Reign thought she had more time. This resulted in Reign falling about 50 feet in the air, down to the ground, creating a big crater with her impact, and also knocking her unconscious.

Since landing back onto the ground with such an impact, Reign has remained unconscious for the last day and a bit. Her body has just been recovering during that time, both from the impact, and from everything that has been done to Reign with the harun-el. The extreme sunlight from being in the middle of a dessert, with no one else around, has really helped to recharge Reign's body. Although the recharge rate has been slower, simply because Reign has been lying on her front, with her clothed back being exposed to the sunlight. This has meant that Reign has had limited skin exposed to the sun to recharge her. Either way, it has been working for the world killer, slowly, but surely.

Soon enough, Reign regains consciousness with a gasp, with her heart beating very rapidly as she does. Immediately, Reign rolls over and looks up at the bright sky above her. Reign can feel the sun warming her body, and recharging her cells, it feels good. It feels almost addictive, like a drug running through her veins, making her feel more powerful, and just better than she has ever felt. Reign continues to lay like this, allowing the sun to soak into her body, for a good 20 minutes, not really thinking of anything as she does. Eventually though, once those 20 minutes expire, Reign finally gets up to her feet, and brushes herself off of all the rubble and dirt that is on her body due to falling into the ground and laying there for the last day and a bit. Once Reign has finished brushing herself off she takes a moment to just look around, and figure out where she is. Reign sees absolutely nothing around her, just more desert. So, because of that, Reign goes to launch herself into the air, and fly away from this desolate place. However, Reign's flight doesn't work.
