A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 358 - Gold Kryptonite

"Kara!" Lena smiles, and goes running over to her wife, taking her in for a hug, glad that she is back, even though the blonde has only been gone for a few hours.

Lena honestly thought that maybe Kara and Nia could be gone for a day, or perhaps more, so seeing that her wife is back within only a couple of hours has really made Lena so very happy. Plus, admittedly, Lena is also kind of glad that Kara and Nia's return has prevented her from getting scolded by Lillian further than she already was due to what she and Alura did, looking for Reign, and around the crater where Reign clearly crashed in the Mojave desert.

"Hey, Lee." Kara smiles, as she hugs her wife back, "I wasn't gone that long."

"I know. I'm just happy you weren't gone that long, that's all." Lena says.

"Yes, and also happy that you appeared just in time to stop me from telling Lena off." Lillian says, with a firm look on her face.

"Tell.... Lena off?" Kara asks, in a confused voice, "What..... what are you talking about? What is going on?"

Lena and Kara now part from their hug, and Lena just looks at Lillian with a frown on her face.

"You couldn't let it go, could you?" Lena says, with a pout.

"If it stops you from doing something stupid in the future, then no, I can't." Lillian says.

"Can someone please tell me what you are all talking about?" Kara asks again.

"The scan of the Mojave desert found evidence of Reign's presence." Winn explains, "More specifically, it found a crater, which we know wasn't there before. Lena was able to also figure out that the crater is along the protectory of Reign's potential flight path/landing/crash site. So we thought that it was likely that Reign was responsible for it. Anyway, I didn't want to send J'onn, because with everything he has just been taking too much on himself, and blaming himself, and I was concerned if he found Reign he would try and attack her himself. So, Lena then suggested that she would go."

"What?!" Kara asks, in an alarmed voice, "That..... that's a bad idea! You don't even know how to properly use your powers yet, Lena!"

"I know that, Kara, but potentially finding more information about Reign's whereabouts was far too important for us to just have to sit and wait for you to come back. Especially seeing as we had no idea how long you were going to be." Lena says.

Kara sighs at Lena saying that, knowing that her wife is making a good point, even if she does not like the idea of Lena being in danger, and putting herself in harms way like that.

"Okay....." Kara says, "So what ended up happening?"

"After some debate, I made it clear that I was going, despite Winn's objections." Lena says.

"Yeah, and I want to make it very clear Kara. Just so you don't bite my head off or anything. I was firmly against Lena going. I didn't support it at all." Winn says.

"Thank you, Winn." Kara smiles.

"Yeah, thank you, Winn." Lena says, sarcastically, "Anyway, Winn really didn't like the idea of me going by myself, so Alura offered to come with me."

"You went with Lena?" Kara asks, now turning to look at her birth mom.

"Yes, I did." Alura nods, "Your friend Winn here made a pretty compelling case that you would be very angry if Lena went by herself, and seeing as no one else has flying powers here. At least, no one that I know of, I offered to go with Lena."

"Thank you." Kara says to her birth mom, with a smile.

"You're welcome." Alura replies.

"So, how did you get on?" Kara now asks, turning to look at her wife.
