A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 282 - Fortress of Solitude Trap

Kara and Reign now go charging towards one another, in the air, at full speed, their sights set on one another, and nothing else. J'onn, for his part, realises that another weapon in Reign's arsenal isn't just her threatening to harm innocent people, but taunting Kara, and making her angry. J'onn knows from his own personal experience, that when you make someone angry, that usually leads to them making mistakes. In that situation, the fighter with better training, and skills, usually wins. So, by doing everything Reign has just done, and with Kara charging in without thinking, J'onn realises Reign has taken the advantage in this fight, even if it is still in the air.

"Supergirl, wait!" J'onn calls out, but it's too late.

Neither Reign nor Kara move out the way, and the two soon collide with one another, making a loud bang which would shatter all windows around, if they weren't a few miles up in t he air. But after the collision itself, both Reign and Kara start to fall towards the ground, clearly being disorientated from what they have both just done to one another. J'onn quickly goes flying after them, however, as J'onn reaches them, Reign regains consciousness first, and quickly flies towards him. J'onn has to take evasive action, to avoid Reign colliding into him, like she did with Kara. J'onn isn't sure he could be able to take a full on collision with Reign with the worst effect simply being disorientated, like it looks to be for Kara. After this, J'onn tries to turn around to face Reign, but as he does, Reign shoots her laser vision at him. J'onn is able to quickly react, and make Reign's heat vision just pass through him, but as he's doing this, he isn't able to stop Reign from then using her freeze breath on him. J'onn is unable to do anything about this, and Reign just keeps freezing J'onn until he feels like he is trapped in a block of ice. Then, at the same time, Kara is still falling down towards Earth, but she is just now regaining her awareness of her surroundings. So, just as Kara is about to hit the ground, she shoots off back into the air.

As Kara flies back up towards Reign, she sees that J'onn is being in cased in a block of ice Reign has created from her freeze breath. So, to counteract this, Kara uses her heat vision on the block of ice, causing it to shatter. This time though, J'onn is the one who starts falling down towards the Earth, looking to be out of it, and unable to control his fall. Kara does make a move to go after him, but before she can, in the air, Reign tackles her, sending her flying miles away, and Reign quickly shooting off after her. Meanwhile, J'onn does go crashing towards the ground, and eventually hitting the ground itself, causing a small crater.

Back in the DEO, Lena and Nia have just arrived at the main DEO command centre area, where Alex is presently standing, giving orders for everyone, as they watch various feeds on the monitors set up all around the command centre.

"Alex, what is going on?" Lena asks, nervously.

Alex turns around to look at Lena, and Lena clearly sees that Alex is talking to someone, as she has one of her hands against her right ear.

"J'onn. Come in, J'onn." Alex says, in a nervous voice.

"Alex...." Lena asks, in more of a panicked voice, "What's happening? Where's Kara."

"We don't know. Reign, Kara and J'onn all flew up into the air together, out of sight of any video feeds or anything. We did see Kara come crashing towards the ground at one point, but before she hit, she went flying back up into the air. J'onn did just hit the ground himself though, and we are trying to contact him. Just before that happened, we detected a sonic boom just above the city. We think Regin and Kara caused that." Alex explains.

Lena now really begins to panic. Lena wishes that she could be out there with Kara, even though she knows it's not safe for her, and their baby. Lena just hates not being able to visibly see the fight, as at least if she can see it, even if she can't do anything to help Kara, she knows what is happening. Staying in this moment of unknown is the absolute worst.
