A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 308 - Off into Space

It is now the following day, and since Kara got the confirmation from J'onn and Winn that J'onn's spaceship is all ready, Kara spent the rest of the day with Lena, Lori, Alura and Morgan, wanting to spend as much time as possible with her family before herself and Lena leave for a day or so. The plan that they have put in place, is that Lena and Kara will leave this morning, after saying goodbye to the girls, and leaving the girls in the care of Lillian, Elizabeth and Eliza, who will all be staying at Kara and Lena's new home. Then, at the same time, just for some extra security, Clark and Lois will be spending the next couple of days in National City, with their twin boys, staying at Kara and Lena's penthouse. This is so that Lori, Alura and Morgan have extra protection, of Superman, if anything does happen, be it Reign escaping from the DEO, or Leviathan trying to make a move on Kara and Lena's family. Kara and Lena just know that with J'onn constantly wanting to watch Reign, they would be much more comfortable with someone with similar powers to Kara being ready to protect and defend their children, at a moments notice.

Presently, Kara and Lena are just about to say goodbye to Morgan, Alura and Lori, with Elizabeth and Lillian having just arrived at their home. Last night Kara and Lena did tell Alura and Morgan that the two of them would be going away for a couple of days. Of course, Alura and Morgan were upset about this, even more so when they told their daughters that the place they are going to won't have any signal for them to have phone calls with them or anything. Kara and Lena have decided not to tell Alura and Morgan that they are going off into space, as they don't want that to scare their two oldest daughters. Instead, the two mothers have simply told the girls that they are going somewhere for work, a bit similar to the reason why Lena had to go away for a few days, just after Lori was born. The only difference being that this time both of them need to go, and won't be able to speak to their girls. After telling Morgan and Alura this, the two girls remained quite sad, and downtrodden, for the remainder of the evening, so Kara and Lena made sure to give Alura and Morgan a lot of attention, including a lot of hugs and everything. They even let Morgan and Alura sleep in their bed with them last night, with Lori being cared for by Eliza, with them having moved Lori's crib into Eliza's room for the evening. All Kara and Lena know, is this is all easier for Lori, as she's just a baby, and doesn't really know what is going on, and can't miss them, beyond missing feeding directly from Lena's breasts. Lena has made sure to pump a bunch more milk though, so Lori should have more than enough to see her through for the next few days.

Kara and Lena are now preparing to leave, and say goodbye to Lori, Alura and Morgan, giving their daughters hugs and kisses, before heading to the DEO desert facility, where Lena will be inputting the coordinates of the location of the material that can hurt Reign, and hopefully cure Sam. Lena and Kara are going to be meeting Winn, Alex, and Clark there, with J'onn staying at the DEO, and explaining over video call everything that Kara and Lena need to know, to work his spaceship. However, in this moment right now, Kara and Lena are really not thinking about their upcoming trip into space. They are more thinking about their daughters, and the fact that they are both going to be sad, and upset, over this next day and a bit, while they are gone. Kara and Lena do know that their moms are going to take amazing care of the girls, and give them all the affection they need, and deserve. However, at the same time, Kara and Lena know from their own experience growing up, that nothing really replaces a mothers love.

"I don't want you and momma to go, mommy." Morgan says, sadly, as she hugs Kara, while Lena hugs Alura.

"I know you don't, baby." Kara says, hugging Morgan tight, picking her up into her arms, "And I promise you, momma and I wouldn't be going on this trip if it really wasn't necessary. We would really prefer to stay here with all of you. But unfortunately, sometimes grown ups have to do things that they don't want to do. In the meantime though, I know that grandmas Eliza, Elizabeth and Lillian are going to take amazing care of you all. You won't miss as at all, because you will be too busy spending all that time with your grandmas."
