Lena now walks further into The Tower, and she soon comes across her mother, Lillian, sitting in the living room area of The Tower, with Ruby sitting by Lillian's side. Alex and Sam are nowhere in sight to be seen. Lena presumes that Sam is just still helping Alex get washed and dressed and everything. However, the one thing Lena does notice right now, is how close Ruby and Lillian look, sitting on one of the couches together. Ruby is pressed up right against Lillian's side, and Lillian has an arm wrapped around Ruby's back, with both smiling at each other as they talk. Of course, Lillian does find this a bit strange, but ultimately she is more than happy that her adoptive mom has seemingly started to truly bond with her goddaughter. Lena is also one of the people that is very familiar with Sam and Ruby's situation. Lena knows that Sam has always felt some sort of guilt for Ruby having such a limited familiar, and not getting to have a grandmother or anything, seeing as Sam's own mom threw her out of the house when she was 15 and pregnant with Ruby. That is why ever since Lena got to know Sam and Ruby she has made a big thing of being just another person in Ruby's life, another family member, as her goddaughter is an amazing young woman, and deserves all the love in the world. So, if Lillian and Ruby have bonded, and are getting closer, Lena is very happy about it. Lena likes the idea of all her family members, and all the people she loves, liking and loving each other too, it just makes them all one big happy family.
"Hello you two. What are you both doing right now?" Lena asks Lillian and Ruby, with a smile on her face.
"Oh, hello dear." Lillian smiles, clearly having been too enthralled in her conversation with Ruby to notice Lena up until this point.
"Aunt Lena!" Ruby exclaims, with a big smile.
Lena is then surprised as she watches Ruby quickly get up from the couch, where she was sitting next to Lillian, and briskly coming over to her, taking her in for a tight hug.
"Oooo...." Lena says, in a bit of a surprised voice, "Hello, Ruby."
Ruby continues to hug Lena for the next few moments, an extended amount of time, which clearly shows there is some sort of reason why Ruby is hugging Lena for this long. Ruby does normally greet Lena with a hug, and that has become a common thing since really Lena first met Ruby several years prior. However, it's not normal for Ruby to hug Lena for this long.
"What's this hug for, darling?" Lena asks Ruby, with a wide smile on her face.
"Because you helped save mom." Ruby says, "I'll never be able to thank any of you enough. I know it wasn't a simple thing, and you and aunt Kara also made some sacrifices to help save my mom."
"Oh, darling." Lena says, as she parts from the hug with Ruby, and looks the teenager in the eyes, brushing some hair out of Ruby's face as she does, "You don't owe me, or any of us, anything. We all wanted to help. We are a family, Ruby. This is what we do for each other. We help each other when it's needed, and not because we expect something in return, but because we care about each other, and want to do these things for each other."
Ruby now grows a few tears in her eyes at Lena saying that to her.
"I love you, aunt Lena." Ruby says, and takes Lena in for yet another hug.
"I love you too, darling." Lena replies, and hugs Ruby back once more.
Lena and Ruby now continue to hug for a few more moments, before they do eventually part from their hug, allowing Lena to turn her gaze to Lillian, shooting a smile at her adoptive mother as she does.
"Hello, Lena." Lillian smiles, and now takes the brunette in for a hug.
"Mother." Lena smiles, and hugs Lillian back.
