A Leap of Faith (Part 2)

Chapter 255 - The Facility

Reign now continues to walk further into this Leviathan facility, following Talia. As Reign walks with Talia she sees that various Leviathan agents are in this building, all going about their work. However, as they walk by, Reign does notice how most of them stop to give Talia a little nod of their head, what seems to be a sign of respect for their leader. However, Reign isn't just anyone. Reign is rather perceptive, so she knows that the nods that the Leviathan members are giving Talia are not signs of respect, they are signs of fear. These Leviathan agents are truly scared of their leader, and Reign can't help but understand why these humans might be afraid. Talia has already shown that she is more than willing to mind wipe people who are close to her, such as her sister, so she thinks that most of these agents must be terrified that that could happen to them if they were to do something to disappoint Talia.

"This is your new base of operations?" Reign soon asks, as she continues to follow Talia.

Talia chuckles.

"No." Talia replies, "This is a new facility that we have been setting up, specifically for you."

"For me?" Reign replies, surprised.

"Yes." Talia nods, "We are partners, after all. We have made a deal. So, I have every intention to supply you with the resources you need to fulfil our agreement. In this facility you will find various things that you may need to complete your mission, including a training facility our scientists have designed for you, which will allow you to test out your powers, away from the world."

"And why exactly are you giving me all this?" Reign asks, suspiciously, "What is your ulterior motive?"

Talia now chuckles at Reign saying that.

"I can understand why you might think I have an ulterior motive." Talia says, "But the reason I am providing you with these resources, is simple. I have learnt the hard way that eliminating Supergirl, and her friends is not as easy a task as it would seem to be. So, I wish to provide you with every resource possible for you to help us complete that goal."

"Okay." Reign says, after a moments silence, "But just so we are clear, this doesn't mean I trust you, or Leviathan as a whole."

Talia chuckles once more.

"I don't expect you to." Talia says, "In fact, I would think less of you if you did trust me, and Leviathan, blindly. I have lived for many many years now, more than you can ever imagine, and in that time I have seen betrayal from all sorts of people. People who I thought I could trust. But, at the end of the day, the hard lesson I learnt is in this life, you can't trust anyone. You can work with people, and form a relationship, but never trust someone completely. Even people, family, will fail you, and will stab you in the back given the opportunity."

"You speak of family. I am aware of what you did to your sister." Reign says, "I know you brainwashed her, or whatever it is you do to your Leviathan agents."

"I sense disapproval in your voice. I thought you'd approve of my methods. I thought you wanted to bring order to this planet?" Talia questions.

"Yes, but a bond between sisters. That is something that transcends all else." Reign says.

"How would you know? You do not have a sister." Talia comments.

Reign now remains silent, as she doesn't want to give away the fact that in her mind she knows that she does have sisters, world killers, all of whom were sent to Earth like her. Reign just knows that once she has control of her powers completely, she will need to figure out how to find them, and to do that she will need to keep it from Leviathan.

Talia and Reign continue walking until they enter a room which very much looks like a lab. For a moment, Reign steels herself, preparing for Leviathan to jump her, and try and now use her as some sort of lab experiment or something. However, after a few seconds, with Talia continuing to walk further into the lab, Reign soon realises that that is not what is going on right now.
